The mortality rate for covid-19 is significantly higher in the 60 plus age bracket , increasing with each 10 year jump.

The need for hospitalisation for covid-19 is significantly higher once you start at 60 and move up much the same.

So if anyone 50 plus received the vaccine and therefore couldn't catch the virus for the next 12 months, the numbers who would require hospital treatment never mind die would significantly drop to levels that barely makes covid a risk.

If everyone above 50 got the vaccine on march 1st, literally tens of thousands would not have died due to covid-19.

I agree that all people over 50 should have the vaccine. Whether it's mandatory or not is another discussion but much like the flu vaccine it's proven it saves lives having it at that age bracket / vunerable people.

In fact the only large case of flu deaths in recent history is when the flu vaccine failed. Not a coincidence.

Hospital figures - 16 is the announced total, 11 up on yesterday and 5 up on last Wednesday. 15 were in English hospitals, 10 up on yesterday and 9 up on last week with 14 occurring in the past 10 days

Just went through Stanstead and no checks or anything were made. Just the usual passport scan, and that's it. Obviously I filled in the online form, but no one checked it at the airport. It will be interesting to see how closely I'm checked up on over the coming fortnight.
