That reminds me of a story I was told by a mate of mine, in the police, when he went to the retirement party of a mate who was in the drug squad. Who owned his retired sniffer dog, and invited the headmaster of his local school. (both were governors).

He might have been winding me up, or repeating an urban myth, but funny if true.
And.... Did the stripper run off with the sniffer dog?

All Settings - Going forth there will be 3 figures and 3 averages for this area so it might get a bit confusing

28 Day cut off - 4 is the announced total, 6 down from yesterday but one up on last Saturday, 7 day rolling average rises slightly to 12.57

60 Day cut off - 23 is the total, 6 down on yesterday but 5 up on last week, 7 day rolling average goes up to 23.14

Legacy (the standard) - 42 is the announced total, 80 down on yesterday and down 13 on last week. The 7 day rolling average sits at 63.29

The earlier hospital figure sees that average fall to an even 9

What a great night out:

Let me tell you something about casinos.

They have not paid their extra 20% but only pay minimum wage anyway.

Many casinos have laid off staff despite setting up online gambling to keep profits up.

They have been telling staff who didn't get sacked (illegally may I add according to the unions) to drop their hours further to save other colleagues jobs.

Casinos , or at least one certain chain I won't mention for libel reasons, are going to be running understaffed now, as in not enough staff to run the place. Loads have lost their jobs from them and all the staff want to do is get back to work to be able to live.

All well and good running this tagline about killing people but imagine spending 4 months getting only 80% of minimum wage and spending 2 months of them not knowing if you even have a job.

Not to mention noone can take holidays as they haven't accrued them so staff will be now working for months massively understaffed before anyone can take a day off.

People must be mad getting into a line of work where they have to service greedy rich nobheads all night.

Furloughed staff should have been accruing annual leave while they've been off.
I think that's guidance rather than law to be fair, and, to a certain extent, would depend on the terms of their contracts, so a crap employer could probably do what most crap employers do.

Incidentally, do you have any idea of what percentage of people on furlough have had their wage topped up ? Most employers I know have topped it up to at least 90%, but I've no idea how common, or otherwise, that is.

I think were around the threshold where UK would make citizens quarantine if travelling back from Ireland. We're not taking it seriously.

Give it four to six weeks, and, if we're not careful, the UK could be in a situation where we'd strike ourselves off our list of safe places to travel to if that was possible.

I've gotten the impression that this certain casino is a very crap employer so none of this is a surprise really.

They certainly have took advantage of every loophole they can get around .

No idea on the top up, to be honest it never effected me or anyone I know of believe it or not other than my mum. Everyone else I know has been in solid work this whole time. I thought they had to top up but apparantly not if the casino decided not to .
