FFS Bruce. Weren't you the one moaning about all the pandemic doom and gloom?

To me, unless people are taking the piss, it's a long-term strategy for lots of businesses. Should reduce traffic on the roads, reduce carbon emissions, people are spending less of their money on travel, eating out at lunches, getting more sleep, easier childcare etc.

There are just so many benefits for me personally.
If a long term trend could also re-energize small/rurual communities as instead of higher priced city housing move to larger and cheaper properties further out that have been hit hard economically in the past few decades.

Will require better investment in high speed internet to those areas though.

Young lad on my shift in work going to benidorm for two weeks. Apparently diesnt have to self isolate when coning beck as he is a key worker.. can anyone confirm this? Takes the piss, ive got a newborn at home and the other lad on my shift has a mother recovering from cancer

Yeah, but what about the rentiers and real urban estate prices ?

Depends, some people will be exempt if they do work for the MOD but majority will have to self isolate when they get back.

I'm sure it's a great move for yourself and countless others, but surely you will miss the bon homie of actually being together and interacting with colleagues and friends...

The mental health aspect of this virus is gonna rise up like a latter day Kracken and bite a major part of the community on the arse...

Staying in, working from home, as my missus is advocating is inherently wrong. We are all human and need some level of contact, it's healthy and necessary...
Images on a computer screen....... Nah...

But we can go out as much as we want now to interact with lots of people so not sure I agree with the bold. I'd have agreed beginning of lockdown but not now.
