Is that the grasping at straws thing based on exaggerating claims made in a paper that hasn't yet been peer reviewed?
Wait

So you are saying if a scientist says something bad about covid-19 then we all must believe them?

But if they also suggest that the country has over exaggerated the death toll then it has no basis?

Same as government says stay in that's fine. Government says go out and it's outrage.

It's the same old story isn't it? Don't just go along with everything we are told and you just be wrong for saying it. Even when people far more qualified than I am have said it , still can't be true because it doesn't fit in with the everyone is dying story that was printed for 2 months.

They really are strange the septics
Ive just watch the parents in some school...in Utah? not redneck or cultish, but looking sort of middle class and should know better-ish...going absolutely ape at being told to wear masks...you'd think they were being asked to sacrifce their first born

There has been a pandemic , there has been a virus that can kill people and all the actions in terms of lockdown etc have been justified.

However what if we were right in the first instance? What if this has been no worse than the flu? What if the only reason why there is a significant death toll is because there is no cure right now?

What if the numbers have been exaggerated in this country for a deeper reason than panic? What if 99% of the population have been safe the whole time apart from that slight chance it could affect younger people?

What if everything you have read has been guess work when it tells you how deadly things are? No second wave, no worse death toll?

What if come December 31st there isn't a significant death increase compared to last year? What if the virus just goes away?

What if the government was right about the way they have treated it and your perspective has been warped by the media?

What if?

I'm saying that the paper hasn't been peer-reviewed yet, flies in the face of the excess deaths statistics, only applies to one of the benchmarks and has attracted those that have vested interests in reducing the perception of the damage Covid has caused. Keep your powder dry and stop acting like crazy far right lunatic.

But what if they are right? How can you actively explain how this country has a death toll twice as big as anywhere else in Europe?

Why is there now an urgent enquiry taking place into it?

How much of the science you have read about has been peer reviewed?

How much of your information has came from anywhere other than the media?

And ask yourself this. How many scientific stories published since march about symptom/cause/death/spread have just disappeared? How many claims that were treated as fact just gone away?

Kawasaki disease, something else I touched upon a while ago. There has been no major increase in that story yet everyone believed it to be true. The fact bald people are more at risk, smokers are less at risk?

What about minorities? That was taken on genetics , even on here I was attacked for suggesting otherwise. It's since come out many times that it's a social economic issue not a skin colour issue.

So much information has just gone away or proven to be false yet the mere suggestion that a lot of this has been hysteria is still not welcomed.

You get your information from the media like we all do. What if they are misleading you?

Mate, most of those points support what I stated - wait until the evidence is out, and peer-reviewed.

What's this? Exactly what I said 3 months ago about the death toll of covid-19

The number isn't the real number, everyone who tested positive at any point whether or not that actually was a cause of death. The number is probably lower and more in line with everywhere else in Europe.

For example the Eddie large conundrum.

I got attacked for suggesting that this country would do such a thing...... Yet scientists are saying the exact same.

Like I've said all along, just because the news reports something , doesn't make it true.
Same in Germany. Anyone who tests positive for Covid and dies is counted in the official numbers

Possibility of crowds coming back in the Autumn. Also talk of all restrictions being gone by Christmas.

All sounds good but a lot will have to go to plan

If Coronavirus is still circulating, an awful lot of people will, regardless of official advice changing, make up their own minds.

Ignore the images and videos which make the headlines, the reality is more like :-

  • Shops re-open, but footfall and high street sales are still way down
  • Pubs and restaurants reopen - both are still deathly quiet in most places
  • Flights and foreign holidays are back on the agenda - very few people are bothering so far

So, going forward, we'll have offices re-opening, but lots of people will stick to working from home, or at least mix it up.

Stadiums will partially re-open, but some will still stay away.

Until people feel safe, rather than being told it's safe, large percentages of the population will play it safe. Eventually, most of us will get bored with playing it safe, and start to take risks, but I think we're some way off that point at the moment.
