Good to see we've now got our full list of countries we can travel back from...

Whether they let British people in to begin with is apparently not troubling the Government.

I have plenty of opinion and insight. I'm asking why would I want to share it with you when you have done nothing but wrongly draw your own conclusions from previous information I've given, create your own straw man to destroy or insult my conclusions previously?

I'm sure your family members working on the front line can help you.
You were sharing it with the forum.

I dont know why you take umbrage. I didn't expect you to have insight, I just thought (having posted it) you might have had.

It's not a big deal.

Hi everyone! (PLEASE SHARE)
As promised, here are the details you need to know about our re-opening this Saturday, 4th July.
Firstly, we can’t wait to see everyone and we’re really excited about sharing the results of all the work of the last 9 weeks. The place is looking truly lovely and we hope that will add to your enjoyment when you next visit. Secondly, apologies for the length of this post but we’re being inundated with questions and hopefully this will help.
As you’ll understand, in terms of operating, we’ve had to make some significant changes to our normal procedures to ensure the safety of our customers and staff. These changes are in place for the moment and will be subject to change as and when we are able or need to adapt further.
As briefly as possible, here is the information you’ll need to know:
• During the first week, Opening Hours will be as follows:
Saturday 4th July: 1p.m. until 10.30p.m.
Sunday 5th July: 1p.m. until 9.30p.m.
Monday 6th - Thursday 9th July: 12 noon until 9.30p.m.
Friday 10th and Saturday 11th July: 12 noon until 10.30p.m.
Sunday 12th July: 12 noon until 9.30p.m.
• We will NOT be taking reservations for tables (we can’t imagine having to ask some of you to leave after a 2 hour slot!) so entry will be on a first come, first served basis. Staff will be keeping a close eye on our capacity in order to maintain safe distances.
• Customers will be asked to make payment using our contactless card machines wherever possible. Please.
• Initially, this weekend, we will not be serving our normal lunch menu although traditional bar snacks and rolls will be available. Thereafter, food at lunchtimes (Monday to Saturday 12 to 2.30p.m.) will be a selection of baguettes and rolls with cold fillings, Ploughman’s and a soup of the day until social distancing allows for more than one person in our small kitchen.
• We have utilised some car parking spaces to provide additional seating although the car park is still accessible. This does mean, though, that parking will be at a premium. If you are able to cycle, walk or car share to the pub, this may be a way around this. If you are driving, please be aware that parking in the village is already limited and be courteous and considerate to local residents.
• We’ll require each group to supply us with contact details to support the government’s ‘Test and Trace’ initiative.
• Service will be at tables as standing at bar areas is not permitted. We are lucky to have a wealth of outdoor areas, many of which are covered, so would encourage customers to sit at these tables. The indoor areas of the pub will be accessible but are much more limited in terms of seating even under normal circumstances and we have had to remove items of furniture in order to enable social distancing. Indoors will be strictly seating only.
• To make table service possible, we have significantly increased the number of staff on duty at any one time. Despite this, you may experience longer than usual waiting times for service. We would ask during this new way of serving, that you remain your patient and understanding selves. It’s a different way of working that our staff are not yet used to, so there will be inevitable hiccups and we will have to designate 2 members of staff just to look after the toilets and the entrance to the pub!
• We have installed several anti-bacterial hand sanitiser stations around the pub (inside and out) which are sign posted. We encourage customers to use these frequently.
• There will be a one-way entry and exit system in place for those using indoor areas of the pub.
• It is permitted to stand and drink (although NOT in bar or indoor areas) but customers are required to continue to observe social distancing rules.
We’re going to work very hard to make all the above work as seamlessly for you as possible and above all we’re all really looking forward to welcoming you back!
Love, Johnny, Al and the whole team at the Black Horse xx

How very cunning of them, putting their customers minds at ease, before peddling DEATH to them lol

Yes I shared it with the forum, but I didn't tag you to explore it further.

I've added to the discussion with others on here about the data and I will continue to do so.

Just because someone doesn't invite you to a party, doesn't mean one isn't happening.

Just seen the new data for North Somerset, and the addition of the pillar 2 figures pretty much double the total number of infections. That said, despite being scared out of my wits by the headline in the paper, even now, we are at 3.7 cases (not deaths) per 100,000 of people. And we cant have many more than 150,000 as a population, so the actual deaths will be miniscule.

Eddie Large was one, a very fat bloke in Nailsea early on another.
Yeah, just checked ours too. They have under counted by 287 in Cornwall, so total infections (lab tested) down here amounted to 882 since the start. Not bad really given there's a population of nearly 600k. The weekly infections were down to 1 last week but I guess that may be a few higher now.

That won't last long though with over 100,000 visitors expected down here over the weekend. Hope you're keeping an eye on the M5 for us mate ;)

Saw it earlier. Busier than the new normal, but 30% of an old normal summers Friday

SAGEGATE: PART ONE
Treasury and Downing Street Advisors Intervened to Delay COVID-19 Lockdown

Documents published by the UK Government’s Scientific Advisory Group on Emergencies (SAGE) throw light on how overarching concerns about the economy derailed efforts to suppress the Coronavirus, resulting in a worst-of-all-worlds scenario: maximum fatality rates combined with the worst economic performance.

One of the most consistent themes that emerges from the minutes of SAGE meetings is how the Government repeatedly expected its scientists to account for the economic impact of lockdown restrictions – even though SAGE was not doing any economic modelling.

The minutes reveal that economic modelling of the potential consequences of social distancing measures was being conducted by other Government departments such as the Treasury and the Actuary’s Department.

This evidence emerges in the context of a Government decision, from the outset, to refuse to consider the goal of suppressing the Coronavirus as a viable option.

Haha. I have noticed them doing a lot of work on the place for weeks, so hope its worth it! No booking or time slots will basically mean, after 6.00pm, dont bother going!

There’s one by me that’s done their own virtual walk through guide and what to expect on Facebook, it’s really quite impressive and is a real credit to how much they care about their customers and pub.
