Cornwall yes.

We only moved down last year to the Falmouth/Helford area, but we've been holidaying down here for 25 years so know all the NT houses here and just over the border in Devon. If it's one of them I'll have been there a few times probably.

For every NT house down here there are another 2 or 3 privately owned grand houses open to the public. There was a lot of wealth down here back in the day.

Slave trade I’m afraid......

So much for the dispersal order that’s supposed to be in place by us to stop people drinking on the street.

There’s at least 100 out there at the mo having an alfresco bevvy !

Thankfully not, although I'm sure somebody will find some connection to Penzance.

Mining, tin and copper, was the big money spinner down here. That and shipwreckinglol

Those ships were carrying slaves.....actually there was quite a biggish slave trade through Falmouth....

Seeing as most of them are using 1m social distancing already they're probably saying what are those dickheads using 2m for.

Look mate. The majority of people in the UK are behaving responsibly. We can't stop the economy because a minority are selfish. There are too many jobs at risk plus the cost to the economy that will need to be repaid. Not by me, because I'm retired. But by all the young ones who are already likely to be badly affected by it.

If you aren't happy about it then stay at home. Nobody is forcing you to go out.

I have stayed at home, I've left the house 6 times since we went into lockdown, that was only to get shopping for a vulnerable relative of my partners. I have not seen my family in 5 months, had nobody to congratulate me on my nee job, had to cancel my wedding. Despite that, its not been that bloody hard to stay indoors. What has been hard is reading the constant abuse of the public to obey the simplest of guidelines.

I hear people say minority, but there is a lot of instances now all over the country. Nothing is being done against these minorities though, they're just being allowed to wreak havoc. When the police finally get involved they're getting assaulted so where's the support for them to do their job effectively.

I, like the rest of us want us back to normality as quickly as possible, if everyone keeps making excuses for the "minority" and have the attitude of "well it was going to be lifted next week anyway" or "well nobody else is bothering with 2m,why should i?" more and more are going to neglect the rules and we'll never contain the virus.

We're going to be in lockdown a lot longer because of the short sighted selfishness of those people.

my point exactly.....,

my point exactly.....,

My anger's not pointed at @Barnfred 55, it probably comes across like that, so apologies in that regard, my anger is pointed at what I'm seeing especially this week from the general public, i don't think there can be any excuses really.

The economical impact is going to be far greater in the long run and i think the public arr failing to grasp this, they feel they can't give the beach a miss this year.

It's pointless doing what Johnson is doing and comparing england to other European countries when our death toll is 15 times worse than theirs.

sounds lovely! And yes I can imagine. This place is Wiltshire.
Don't know Wiltshire that well other than Lacock. The whole village is owned by the National Trust and we've stayed overnight there a number of times on route to Southampton. It's not far from Devizes and I'd recommend it if you ever need to visit your client.

the only other Trust property I know in the area is Stourhead. If your client was brought up there she's a very lucky lady.
