Never been in a gym as I have a fit wife... And a terrier to walk.
I’m sure you are mate as I’m sure the myriad of posters who dislike gyms and Manage to maintain a superb Level of fitness are as well it’s just some people like gyms . Some people want to build muscle or do different exercises or work on a bag or use equipment they haven’t got at home . Like I say I’m not advocating them being open now but some people like painting small figures of gnomes that’s great and I’ve no desire to criticise but the same People feel the need to talk with disdain about people who want to go the gym , all a bit odd .

the size of five or six doubles tennis courts and are exceptionally well ventilated,
Absolute bollocks. The very big ones, like David Lloyd are, but every single gym I have delivered stuff to are tiny. One room units in business parks are the more likely case, with no ventilation unless you open the door.
Do you honestly think the same cant be said of pubs? Will be even worse when people are drunk.I'm a PureGym member. I actually essentially lost money when it closed actually and re-opening would be great for me.
I'll talk with disdain about people who want them open now because they're thinking solely about themselves, not wider society.
The majority of people who use gyms would be fine in the case of infection. The problem is you get an outbreak and they pass it to the more vulnerable.
There's no defending opening gyms in the midst of a global pandemic. Literally no defence of it. Anyone and everyone suggesting it makes sense are complete idiots.
They just mean the Pure Gym sites here don't they?
But to be honest, the one near London Victoria would be a petri dish for infections.
The gym I go to is huge and is usually freezing cos the air con is too strong.the size of five or six doubles tennis courts and are exceptionally well ventilated,

Will have to wait to see the details but I don't much like the sound of having to register and check in to go to the pub. What happens? How does it work?
Say the stedded-up chimp on the door takes your details. What does he do with them? Where does that list go at the end of the night? Chimp decides actually, I don't like you because or your colour, gender, sexual orientation or because you manage to annoy them somehow. Let's face it, it ain't difficult to annoy doormen, is it? Or maybe he thinks you're on your own, very drunk and therefore vulnerable and decides to let his mates know they can break into your house, 'cos you're in the pub. Or perhaps steal your identity, Maybe beat you up on your way home or rape you. I hope some serious thought into how something like this will work has been done, but judging by previous form, I doubt it. Guess we'll see.

If someone thinks a gym is unsafe then don't go in it. It's an undeniable fact that if more people went to gyms there would be less pressure on the nhs all year round.Good for you. So you really mean open my gym. Cos the ones I visit are basically a room.
All natural to whatever deity you subscribe to intended.well done on all counts
