Not sure anything you’ve said disagrees with what I posted ?

Of course flu and covid are not the same, but that’s not the key point.

In a country which is about to add millions of unemployed to 600,000 in May, it is not prudent to advocate for continued lockdown. This virus is less deadly on a daily basis than something which most people shrug their shoulders at every winter.
You are clearly very bright which is why you should recognise that we were getting 800+ deaths a day because we locked down too late. If we opened up again then it is highly likely that COVID deaths would start to grow quickly again and far out-strip regular flu.

I share your frustrations and concerns about the economy. However ask yourself - are you be prepared to readily sacrifice family members? If so, how many would be an acceptable number?

Aren't these kind of places among the more at risk workplaces? Obviously they don't get any publicity as I suspect many prefer not to think about how meat gets onto their plate, but still.
I've been to the Llangefni site quite a few times over the years. Like most abattoirs and primary meat processors they generally have significantly higher absences due to food poisoning than in the general population - I got it from there one time when I was in doing an audit on the night hygiene shift, where they clean down the whole factory prior to start up the next morning. There is a lot of aerosol formation as they use a lot of water from hoses for pre and final rinsing after chemical application. Any virus on surfaces would be a major problem as they can spread readily once cleaning starts.Social distancing will be a challenge there at all times due to the factory lay-out and the number of people movements across the site. There have been several similar sites who have had the same issues over the past few months, with multiple infections at some of them. I would imagine that area of food processing is amongst the most dangerous for personnel out of all industries. Not just here, they've had similar instances on the USA as well. Our own COVID-19 controls would not allow us to visit at present, although to be fair to 2 Sister's they prohibited any visits by outside companies at the start of the out-break.

The race debate on here should be put to bed.

Those who are in denial are entrenched and won't be shifted, regardless of the evidence, stats and lived experiences.

Nothing anyone says on here is going change the mind of @ForeverBlue92, for example.

However, change is happening, will continue to happen, and those in denial are powerless to stop it.

I look forward to a better society.
So do I. I remember a TV clip type show that expected us to laugh at Nigerian quiz show contestants getting really excited at the prospect of winning a fridge. Poor and black, Oh how we laughed!

This country is backward on race, equality, health, social care, sustainabilty and taxation.

We are so arrogant we have been overtaken years ago by more cerebral nations. Our current governing clowns are exactly what is wrong. However we are a Conservative nation as a rule. Perhaps the truth of Empire taught in school might help.

Urrgghh

Matt Hancock another leading by example, bloody hell, how can this country trust and follow these politicians' guidance when they're all breaking the rules.
