The problem is not the queues in primark. Its the people touching the clothes and putting them back. I want a size 12 so I check but hey these are not the right length, OK put them back and pickup another pair. How are shops dealing with this?

Fully agree with your first comment, although that sort of goes against your response to my original post I think.

As regards the second point, communication from the government in general has been pretty poor, but I think they have been pretty clear and consistent as regards the subject of social distancing. What confuses the hell out of me is the different procedures in the different countries. I can't keep up with it all and am just happy I have no intention of travelling to Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland in the foreseeable future.

Good Wales is closed, although the fines from Midlands and North West in this period from March have been world beating, so not so clear for some. This traveling into Wales probably contributed to 1448 deaths COVID as of yesterday.

As someone who has been sheilding a number of people over this period since March, social distancing does not really exist in shops. Funnily enough I was behind another shopper on Thursday, they literally picked up and examined every pack of tomatoes, it's constant phenomenon.

In Germany

You must look in dismay at what is happening in England. I'm in Wales it's like looking at a sketch of Monty Python does 1984.

Quite. How's that going so far?
Well, as Johnson and his Government stated, the tracing app was central for England coming out of lockdown, world beating and independent.

By 1st June this app was supposed to be in beta across other parts of England...

So it's going just as well...;)

Agree with most of this mate, think the Welsh goverment have done really well. The problem is the amount of people travelling out of Wales esp those close to the border. With the shops opening in England a lot of people are taking the chance and could bring the virus back in. I live just inside the Welsh border and know quite a few who went shopping into England yesterday.

Breaking the 5mile restriction?

Seems mad to me that they've opted to go for indoor shopping before alfresco drinking and dining. I was hoping that it would be clear that outdoor transmission would be low and we could get back to some relative normality (e.g. summer holidays etc) soonish. I fear this will scupper things.

You think that's bad... I had a colleague who drove from Ghent to Grenoble a few weeks ago when the borders were closed. When challenged he told the French police "its mothers day" and they let him away. Bonkers.

Wales is not completely free from the Tory hive mind. However, the Government is thankfully.
