Yep.

Remarkable.

If they had the government we have they'd be throwing themselves into the Atlantic to survive.
Socialist government in Portugal also  They took quick and clear action before it set in. Obviously proximity to Spain helped make this decision. Would possibly argue that it isn’t as much of an international country with finance and transport links as the UK but agree with your point.
Johnson et al are guilty of gross negligence. Sure we are all going to be told to ‘move on’ again with tag lines like ‘get Britain back on its feet’ becoming the norm.
How anyone can stand by this Tory government right now is beyond me. But Abbot or something...

Open up Primark and Sports Direct - "itz fuuukinn sound lad".

I was toying with the idea of topping up some of my essentials earlier I must admit.
Save fannying about if it all kicks in again, even though I work in a shop.
If (and I do think it's quite possible) we get hit again, I wonder how smoothly the essential necessary work would be carried out, considering fatigue, morale, replenishment, etc..

All the medical scientists (even the ones advising this government) have said it's a risk to open up shops etc.

Yes, the material and mental side of lockdown is important to address, but we are not even out of the first wave of this and the second wave wont be too far off.
So what is your suggestion? We can’t just lockdown until there is a vaccine. We are doing the only thing we can do in attempting to restart the economy as safely as we can.

I posted last night...

Alternative list for starting the shopping:

1/ R-number down below 0.5
2/ Cases of infection in their hundreds rather than thousands
3/ Trace and track at promised "world class" level
4/ Mandate (as in many countries) all people to wear face masks in shops

One person being a metre distance from another person is 10x more likely to become infected than being at 2 metres from them.

The Tories are stampeding to get that 2 metre distance scrapped.

Has there ever been a bunch of cut throats like this in charge in modern Britain?

They are 'kin lizards.

Dave quoting Tory murder scientists inc. there. The WHO on the other hand said a metre is fine.

And in other news, shoppers complain that the shops are overcrowded...
