I honestly cant see it working in places like the UK & USA.

those smaller asian countries that have stricter governments and years of experience with this sort of thing may be able to pull it off by I doubt we will.

I'll be shocked if the majority even wear face masks when out and about.

May it be as efficient, possibly not. However
a) we haven’t tried it yet so let us see - I honestly didn’t think large numbers of people would voluntarily go into lockdown which most have and this is in comparison a lot less of an ask.
b) even if only say 50% as effective that will still make a huge difference to how healthcare copes.

I had a plumber over a few days ago and he wasnt wearing a mask - I think more will do it over time but there are those stubborn types who I doubt will bother.

I'll tend to stay in more if its compulsory to wear out around the shops etc as the ones I bought are bloody awful to wear in this heat lol

An antibody test is something else that would provide a greater level of mitigation and confidence. Thats what the next 12 months are all about - co-existing with this virus whilst progressively gaining as much control as possible over its spread.

In the sample the other week, only about 5% of people had antibodies though. If you don't prioritise, you'll likely to get a lot of negative results back, which wouldn't be best use of resources.
