Daily deaths up from this time last week - and we're on the brink of binning off the lockdown

Is there any aspect of this pandemic that England has dealt with effectively?!

I think we’ve been terrible at it

Contrast is with, say, Japan and it’s nigh on embarrassing

Much bigger population and much closer to China and their death total isn’t even close to how high ours is

It’s been a disaster

Yesterday was lower than normal for a Tuesday because everything was a day behind with the bank holiday, the figure today would have been yesterday’s. As mentioned before the 7 day averages have been coming down all week which is more a positive sign

Imagine them calling you:

-we hear you were with tom on Friday for 15 minutes who has coronovirus and now you have to stay indoors for at least a week.
-no I wasnt
-he says you were
- hes lying

And so on

Totally agree, but what should have been a decision made at the top and based on advice from SAGE, the CMO and CSA, was seen as an opportunity by the Unions to stir up trouble. Then Everyman and his dog decided that they too would decide on school openings or not. It turned political and it shouldn’t have been like that......

I am pretty sure SAGE didn't recommend schools opening. A union is a representative of it's members, only 5% felt it was safe to return, what are they meant to do?

As a slight aside, the point with Cummings is more that parents who clearly have fears about kids returning will cite him as justification for not returning to school. That will make things more difficult.
