I’m not a fan of this government or of its handling of a lot of this crisis although I’ll give them credit Where it’s due and I think the treasury and the governments measures over that side of this have been very good . So considering that it’s to be expected I’d hardly be supportive of either Cummings or Johnson .

All that said I’m genuinely shocked at the strength of public opinion over this . I’m surprised at the anger I’m seeing from usually non political people but also from tories . I’d doesn’t need saying but This has been handled beyond badly and they’ve seriously misjudged the public mood .

it’s hard to put an finger on way but I’m guessing the reasons why the Brexit campaign hit home , why a lot of Cummings ideas cut through was that it was anti -elite or rather it presented that idea . I think over this it looks as if it’s perpetuated a one rule for the elite one for the plebs and that’s also resonated .

I think it was the Barnard Castle excuses that “jumped the shark“ that were the final straw - people just feel they are being treated like utter mugs.

I'm jealous too but also annoyed as they'll ruin it for the rest of us over here, especially my town, when we get slammed back to full lockdown again.

Just reading about an outbreak in Frankfurt that came to light on Monday. Originated in a church service 2 weeks ago. Caused 112 infections lol

Attendees weren't asked to wear masks and were all singing.

He literally gave advice that cost the lives of over 60,000 people and nobody says a word.

He goes for a little drive and all hell breaks out.

It's really bugging me now how brazenly open people are about breaking lockdown rules these days. So many people on my social media are posting selfies stood next to or hugging their friends and when you question it they say things like "get over it" or "it was only for the photo". Like, what's even the point anymore.

It's got policy and legal approval...so yeah get over it!

The problem for me is that as well as said people possibly carrying/spreading it also might entice others to copy them thinking lockdown is over. When they announced the phases of lockdown we'd be going into so many people were confused on what was allowed and I bet there are still people on social media unsure so seeing people hang on they might think "oh, maybe I can hang out then" and go down. No one seems to ever consider knock on effects.

Yep, enclosed spaces plus singing are a recipe for it by the sounds of it.

Someone should tell them God would forgive them staying at home and praying but oh well.

Just reading more about the Frankfurt one. The service was on May 10th, and the outbreak was reported around the beginning of this week. I wonder how long those 112 people were active in the community before they became aware they were infected. Lots of them were members of families with up to 5 kids, there was a creche supervisor infected. I think we'll be back on lockdown soon lol

I have largely ignored this, but I'm glad that they have stopped giving information on the people tested part. They have no accurate way of knowing.

I know theres a lag in reporting and all that, but a quarter of all positive tests died.

And to me 412 seems quite high?????
