Johnson sent out the Commander in Chief to bail Johnson out of the mire. But the day's proceedings only made it worse for Johnson.

On the 30 th March the FT wrote that No 10 has informed them Cummings was in self isolation. Johnson knew that Cummings his special adviser was in isolation. Why did Cummings say he never talked to Johnson about it until the last few days? Today Johnson said this,

One quote from the prime minister’s briefing that bears relaying in full. Responding to questions about when he learned of Cummings’ lockdown breach, he said:
I didn’t know about any of the arrangements in advance ... What I think did happen was while I was ill and about to get a lot sicker we had a brief conversation in which I think Dominic Cummings mentioned where he was.
But I have to tell you, at that particular stage I had a lot on my plate and really didn’t focus on the matter until these stories started to emerge in the last few days.

So Johnson knew Cummings was in Durham and not in London, but Johnson kept saying he didn't know where Cummings was. I wonder if it was Johnson who asked the police to go around to check on Cummings? Initially, the police said it was Covid related and advice on isolation, then today changed their story and said it was 'security' related. More than one person lying through their teeth with the 'security' issue being used as cover. As is the 'ill' and a 'lot on my plate'. Johnson was so 'ill' he made this video on 3rd April.

Cummings said he felt threatened at his home, I've never seen any police presence on TV outside his house when he's seen coming out and getting in his car.

Already a ground swell down here to open up more phases, we are both in trouble with the border if one moves before the other mate.
Opening up isn't so much a problem if there is good tracing in place and people clearly follow sensible policy. In many instances lockdown is a symptom of poor early management and preparedness and is simply done to put the breaks on.

If the former are in place then it's more manageable and you achieve a better balance between protection and business as usual.

Great thing about the UK case figures is that It is two weeks since the lifting of lock down, you’d expect to see an increase either today or as the week goes on, so seeing a continued reduction is really hopeful.
I'm expecting it to be later than that, what you usually see is an initial creep then exponential growth.

However, the British people have largely done a good job.

But but but Karen said the apocalypse would hit if people were allowed out again!

Maybe the experts know more than her and Linda on social media after all?!

I don’t disagree mate, but I’d still be cautious, let’s not forget how quickly this hit and with some ferocity. We might have got a bit cleverer and learned how to shut down clusters, but one gig, match, horse racing event etc sees the whole cycle start again.

But you are right, as we open up this is going to be about cluster management, test and track and pace that can be done. Practically as we open up the reality is companies, offices and business, schools, factory’s are all going to be clusters and will be shut as discovered. Then secondary risk, if your girlfriend gets it in work or bus or train, your then on isolation and or positive - on it goes.

That said, without looking into to much, I’ve heard some suggest the virus might burn itself out. Remeber this guy.....I posted it a few weeks back.

I can't imagine these things opening back up any time soon, but where there is scope for distancing and opportunities to open up it should be considered if there is good tracing in place and you can reasonably expect the public to adhere to those rules.

The problem is, I've not seen anything to suggest that the Government have anything remotely resembling good tracing.
