...surprised Labour haven’t called the PM for ‘urgent question’ re Cummings in the Commons. I know they are favouring an inquiry, but i also think Cummings should be interrogated by joint Select Committee. That would make for fascinating viewing.

Parliament would have to be recalled for that, and they might want the PM to further destroy his credibility for a week instead.

edit: also if you think Cummings would testify and give full answers to a Parliamentary Select Committee then

....yep, just realised Parliament is in recess. I imagine Cummings would be Obliged to attend a select committee given his position within Government machinery.

Not sure Labour need to do anything but sit back and enjoy the show. Doesn't need them to tell the general public what contempt they have been held in.

But his 'position' isn't really officially in the Government is it? He isn't even a member of the Conservative Party.

That's half the problem.

Only Cummings is already in contempt of Parliament for refusing to appear in front of a select committee months ago.

He just shrugged and the Govt looked the other way. The man is untouchable.

This is slightly worrying, the start of a second spike? In the article it points to the high number of coronavirus patients - be interesting to know if these were new intakes
