Current Affairs Coronavirus Thread - Serious stuff !!!

If he was well enough to drive 250 miles then I don’t believe it was essential travel.

for example, why didn’t the sister travel to him instead? As she presumably was not displaying symptoms?
Exactly. Firstly, he reportedly had family in London who you'd expect could have been asked to look after the children if necessary - if at risk, why not choose this?

Like I mentioned earlier, surely if he was able to endure the journey then you'd suspect that they would still be in a fit and able state to care for their children.

Did he have symptoms or was it a precaution? Why did his family not come to get the children? The defence shows a disdain for the general public!

By the way...

So, whilst technically, he didnt do anything actually prohibited, I am still rather puzzled. Why (if the reason was to safeguard his child/access a support network), the senior adviser to the PM, living in London, couldnt arrange support if he and his wife were unable to?

No idea if he has any other family tbh. Which would probably be the main driver of his actions if correct I would have thought....

His brother in law lives in London. And that aside, if the adviser to the PM cant ensure that his kid would be looked after if he and his wife were self isolating, then I am not sure he is capable of doing a jigsaw.
All this because of one kid and there are two of them.

If they class what he did as essential what provisions are they putting in for a single parent with limited finances who has three kids to deal with?

sorry if this has been posted before, but this exact situation did come up in an earlier press conference with what someone (the likes of you and I, obviously) should do:
