So, whilst technically, he didnt do anything actually prohibited, I am still rather puzzled. Why (if the reason was to safeguard his child/access a support network), the senior adviser to the PM, living in London, couldnt arrange support if he and his wife were unable to?
I do.Do you have kids ?.....
The papers will be interesting tomorrow after they've received their memos off Boris.
Friends I know were in his exact situation, actually.. They had 2 kids they didn't leave their house as they knew it was the wrong thing to do, they are lividDo you have kids ?.....
Have I missed something? It was technically prohibited.
None of them would be in the Cabinet without Cummings wanting them there. If they don't defend him the chances are they would be out at the earliest opportunity themselves. So in terms of self-preservation they think they are better off defending Cummings than going against him. When a large number of cabinet ministers come out in defence of an indefensible action (going against all advice) by an 'advisor', you know where the power lies.
If they had any sense, they'd throw Cummings under the bus and rightly so; instead, they're throwing themselves under the bus.
I had that on vinyl.‘F*** the Police’ more like.
It's not a therory with Johnson. That murdering scumbag was fit as a fiddle throughout the whole 'death's door' period. Taking the piss on a private ward for two days before getting off to his country home at Chequers for another 3 week holiday. He returned with a tan and a triple chin...at death's door my arse.Actually, there could be something a bit more sinister happening here - the full @davek theory.
Mary Wakefield's story about Cummings and C-19 is that he said "I feel bad" and essentially collapsed into bed straightaway. Reasonable - the illness is vicious.
But even C-19 suffers - not the asymptomatic ones - would find a drive of London to Durham almost an impossible physical ask, and let's be honest, incredibly dangerous with a child in the back. Both parents were unwell (as per Wakefield) - what if they swerved? What if they got halfway and couldn't physically drive any longer?
Or - and to return to the @davek theory - what if Dominic The Great Lad wasnt actually sick at any point, and was driving up for his Mum's birthday (also April, btw)?
