I think it's worse than this, they are completely out of their depth here. They haven't got a clue what to do and are just letting things spiral. People are very angry at Johnson, even younger right wing people I know. This is before the bodies start piling up.

I think this will be a moment of epiphany for a lot of people. The equivalent of the grave diggers strike in 79, where quite complex broad messages were conveyed by a series of smaller mistakes.

This is a substantial crisis. There's a right wing, conservative political analyst I know who told me a few weeks ago he felt Johnson was done. I remember doubting him, thinking it was much too soon after what was a thumping election win. He's been proven correct thus far. I don't think he recovers from this.

He was very proactive though. He made numerous hard decisions. This lot are genuinely flummoxed. I am amazed he gave the advice yesterday evening, with Arteta found ti have the virus for people to go to football matches. You can get away with that level of stupidity on certain issues, but something as serious as this, it is going to bite you.

This will be a Society changer, boardrooms and small business up and down this country alone are apoplectic about the economic consequences, never mind around the world, not wanting to be doom and gloom about it but seriously this is a GAME changer, no COUNTRY or its residents can sustain itself/themselves for 3-6 months financially with no income, that is now a very real possibility not dismissing the loss of life too as important as that is.

What is happening then Dave. Not in Italy, nor Spain nor any other country, what is happening here in the U.K. ? At this moment in time 10 people have died, so please tell me what you think is happening......

• statutory sick pay for all those absent from work
• limit the use of public transport
• extend home deliveries
