It does, just immunization and immunity is much higher with flu in the populace. I've had flu once some years back it was nasty, reading the symptoms of this virus for a healthy person appears to be milder than flu.

to be fair I’m not convinced all flu does the same damage and I reckon you went through a nasty flu that should not be classified as “just a flu” as well.

QT last night the ex health North west guy spoke sense on this virus, and things have independently escalated football st Patrick's day etc cancelled - common sense has prevailed.......

The figure is way higher. You can't confirm cases without testing and the general public aren't being offered tests even if they show symptoms. The official advice is if you show symptoms lock yourself away and don't bother the medical profession unless you're completely floored by it for 7 days or so.

That's not going to show a count of how many people have it.

Edit - According to the Department of Health there have been 29764 people tested and of those 590 tested positive. (9am 12 March)

That's a much higher percentage than the 500 odd out of 66 million you are working on and much lower odds than winning the lottery!

Which is why it's a waiting game as people who don't have symptoms can carry it.

South Korea got the virus the same time as Italy. Similar numbers of infection. SK went all out in testing and containing areas. Death toll - 67.

Italy only tested people in areas with symptoms and not people who didn't have symptoms who ended up carries. Death toll 1000.

There was one going through florida xmas before last that completely laid you to waste, hospitalised a few lads on the site
It's horrible.

I used to think I had it and would go to work with a pocketful of pills and powders and power through it. Achey limbs and a bad head but I got through.

Then I got it properly one year and realised I'd never actually had it proper and fortunately I've never had it proper since. Those adverts for Lemsip and the like make me laugh, there's no way that stuff alleviates it enough to do anything.

Some people dont understand that though
