I'm still not getting it.

The premise seemed to be that concentration of large and small towns increased Covid19 transmission, but Germany doesn't support that....then I got "car emissions" as an answer.

Germany were found to be lying rotters when it comes to releasing figures that didn't reflect the reality.

A fun way to start VE I thought

Maybe its just me that cant square the circle.

Germany has been super duper in dealing with this, so well in fact that they are starting football.

But within days of squads getting together, under strict conditions, almost a dozen footballers get infected.

Seems at odds with what we are being told.

In Germany?

Germany will definitely be reporting deaths differently than us - doesnt matter how good your medical gear is if this thing gets a hold of you I doubt the difference in survival of an 80 year old diabetic will be them having fancier looking ventilators than us.

I was under the impression there was a lockdown in UK...Grealish and Kean were pulled up on it as was Walker.

Now he breaks the rules because he feels like it + blaming it on the media.

Hes broken lockdown 4 times now...no punishment. People wonder why the UK isnt coping well with the virus.

Over here he would be in jail.
If he has broke it four times and has already been advised by the police, I'm fairly confident that he'd be convicted if it went to trial.

I'd suspect a multitude of issues that many will originate from their engrained sense of preparation and compliance. Culturally, they're better prepared for this.
If Germany are doing something, it'll be rational and well organised and the correct thing to do.

They are the gold standard in Europe (outside small nations like Iceland etc)

Germany is the exception in terms of population density, even then outside of the Ruhr that looks really dense on that map (which wouldn't even be in the top 75 densities in the UK) the population density isn't particularly high. There's so many other factors too, look at obesity which seems to be one of the at-risk factors, they have a rate about 10% lower than ours, we have more people in care homes.

Indeed, but it is naive if people simply suggest that we could simply copy their actions because the entire psyche of our population is not the same as theirs.

That's not saying we can't learn a lot from them because we can, but their population as a whole will be more receptive to ideas coming from each länder.

I once crossed an empty road in Cologne when the man on the traffic lights said not to and was stared at like I was murdering a child with my bare hands for doing so. I imagine going against the lockdown guidelines would have resulted in a public lynching.

We cant do what they're doing because we have terrible leadership. I have no confidence whatsoever in what they tell us. I think that feeling is rife.

Knowing Germany it wouldn't surprise me if they've reported deaths caused by Covid instead of everyone who dies with it like we have!
