Honest question, why do people care? It just seems so strange to be hanging on the edge of your sofa at 5pm to hear the latest death stats. If things are happening in your social circle then of course, it's important, but drooling over these national stats like it's the World Cup is just odd.
You are right of course Bruce.

The reason I'd like to know is I want the government to be more open and transparent with their information. I hate all the politically driven nonsense being spouted on here but that is partly spurred by the lack of detail.

The many mistakes being made are bourn of incompetence, pure and simple. Not out of malicious contempt for the population.

Why do you think its"political nonsense" Decisions taken by Any government affects us all....you actually believe that this particular set of politicians care about the majority of citizens in this country?

A work colleague's father passed away in hospital last week. Nursing staff told him in wasnt the virus yet the doctor put coronavirus on his death certificate.

Much as i would to defend a former profession, Nurses are not coroners nor do they conclude postmortems or have the practitioner training to give provisional diagnosis, although with the advent of wholesale degree level nursing they may believe themselves to be. If i were concerned start making a noise for that full coroner report...

I believe they are not making decisions out of sheer malice like some on here do. I believe they are doing their best, but that is nowhere near good enough as it is limited by competence within ALL of our politicians and within the permanent government.

He won’t read this because he has blocked me, but “political nonsense” is anything he disagrees with.

As a relevant example, citing Farage’s opinion is fine. Saying Farage is wrong is “political”.

Given in the queen's Speech (s)he said:

'The integrity and prosperity of the United Kingdom is of the utmost importance to my government.' and 'Steps will be taken to grow and support the National Health Service’s workforce'

I'd say it's fair to scrutinise the initial response and ongoing action of the current Government.
