I think the problem is people don't seem to have much faith in this government mate.
I understand that Lou, and that's exactly because they haven't been open and transparent from the outset. I know they have to protect the NHS hierarchy (not talking about the front line heroes here but the Neolithic structure) and the CS too, but they could be adding a lot more detail to all the accusations being thrown at them. Instead they invariably say nothing and hide behind the old "taking scientific advice" comment, which as you have said leaves people to form their own opinion, which are often probably very wide of the mark.
I just think in this regard. giving out wishy washy plans like the Scots and Welsh have done will rightly bring wholesale criticism, and any detailed plan will probably be so wide of the mark by the time that it is introduced that they will again get heavily criticised for incompetence and even for lying. Not to mention probably giving many people false hope.
I'd tell the truth for once. We are weeks away from the start of any exit strategy. And that we have a flexible framework of an exit strategy in place, but that this is constantly changing as we learn more about the virus, and it would therefore be irresponsible to publish full details now as it would likely change within 24 hours.
