Current Affairs Coronavirus Thread - Serious stuff !!!

I'm not one to naively think politicians won't take advantage where they can, but I can assure you anyone who has been seriously ill with Coronavirus, and that doesn't mean just those who have had to be on ventilators, will need plenty of recuperation time, especially one so obviously fat, out of condition and therefore susceptible to slow recovery as him.

Doctors don't take precautions just on a whim.

The responses in this thread are all too predictable and mostly nonsense - just letting their natural bias rule over any common sense.

(And I don't think he's anything like really weak now but it's still medically sound to not rush back, with politicians they no doubt would for the right moment but they still shouldn't)

This virus shouldn't be treated as if it's nothing, it effects very overweight people disproportionally, they really are susceptible

Being a cokehead has probably weakened his immune system and slowed his recvery down too

Bang on about monaural Darwinian approach all you like. The salient facts that UK just never had medical capacity to manage the consequences of let it sweep through herd Immunity. We've run out PPE as it is with our lock down approach. And many many more deaths will occur, such as cancer diagnosis and treatments have literally just to stoped, just so the government can proclaim the NHS was not overrun.

Its astonishing how those who have key symptoms of the virus cant get a test unless they are serious enough to be in hospital yet Karen can get one because her fella's a binman despite realistically not needing one.

Baffling how they are doing it.
It's being rolled out by Local Government so there will be different approaches. Where I live, and in the 2 neighbouring authorities, key workers can only get a test if they have symptoms.

And it was only a matter of time before someone would take the government to court over the issue of PPE. There's going to be more legal challenges o for heath trusts, care homes and the government.

Husband and wife doctors suing government over PPE ...

Those that were suffering in care homes and at home should have been taken into hospital.

Hancock blaming people for 'not coming for a test'. Code for don't blame me for not reaching the 100 000 a day tests, it's the public's fault.

Matt Hancock: 'Not as many people coming for a test as expected'
Health Secretary Matt Hancock has said the new online booking system will be key to the government reaching its target of 100,000 coronavirus tests a day by the end of the month.

Speaking on BBC Breakfast, he said: “Not as many people have been coming for (a test) as we had expected.

“Of course that was a problem but its a good problem because it means we’ve been able to expand who can get a test faster than we had planned.”

The test centre were to far away for most people and now it is still only key/essential workers who have symptoms. Not ever worker, which is an incredibly limiting criteria.
