1. Because they are liars, bad ones
2. It has leaked

Pete do you really look at two months now of daily fibs, whoppers, misleading statements and such like and think “all criticism of them is tribal”.

I mean ffs Hancock told everyone ten days ago that we wouldn’t run out of PPE if the doctors and nurses used it correctly. Now here we are.

If anyone should stop being tribal, it’s you.

I will grant you that our CS and NHS bureaucracies have performed woefully, but I expect no better from them to be honest......

They probably have. However, weren't you lot creaming yourselves at the turn of the year over Johnson/Cummings new way of doing things, basically sacking off civil service for a new order. Nerds freaks and Eugenicists?

I agree, they were too slow to sack the incompetents. But no one saw this virus coming, apart from China obviously......

Plenty of people plan for and consider the possibility of a Pandemic. If people hadn't it wouldn't be the highest risk to the UK on the national risk register.

In 2016 the government were warned they didn't have enough PPE, ventilators, ICU beds and suitably qualified staff to respond to a pandemic. Exercise Cygnus. But due to cost they binned the exercise and have kept it hidden from scrutiny.

Matt Hancock re-organised the procurement and delivery of PPE and help set up Supply Chain Coordination Ltd. His 'baby' has been an absolute disaster as has his giving the logistics contract to Clipper Logistics.

So the Government and the civil service are incompetent. Good to know we're in safe hands.

The state of our CS is actually very worrying. There are 365 Conservative MP’s who may or may not be in office for ten years. Meanwhile we have a public sector of over 5,000,000 who are in post for life. The great majority of these are doing a great job. The management of the CS and Public bodies is the concern because these are the people who are supposed to carry out government policy and too often they fail and ministers make excuses for them. That pillock who Patel got rid of at the home office may be an extreme case of incompetence, yet somehow I doubt it.

We have a major National crisis playing out. We have front line NHS workers doing what they should be doing, it’s about time the employees with the grandiose titles and large salaries pulled their fingers out. It might also help if the media and various parties stopped playing politics and got behind the effort......

lol

The mad thing is that the one correct prediction you’ve made here was that Boris would be a disaster.
