TBF politically-connected disaster profiteers are rarely if ever executed in fascist or communist regimes; even scum of the kind that ran firms like IG Farben or Dehomag (who also escaped the noose in the subsequent war crimes trials).
Not sure why I should feel positive towards a
regime that lock thousands of Uighurs in camps, killing millions of their own race during cultural revolution, Tiananmen massacre, killing and torturing Tibet monks, and they actually feel proud about it mate. Not forgetting what’s happening in hk, which I’m witnessing with my own eyes.
I don’t think it’s about rising above it. I don’t consider myself nationalistic in anyway. It’s simply upsetting at a human level.
Imagine German government telling the world what they did to Jews is correct and they’re proud of it. Imagine the repercussions that follows.
Back to topic, the situation in Italy is extremely dire. A lot of similarities with the initial stages of Wuhan. While China can impose draconian steps, the same might not be possible under western democracy.

This. I personally can't stand anyone who unironically writes this sort of thing. Surprisingly I see a lot of self-identified Lefties who are rejoicing at the idea of the right-wing's voters dying off. So scummy imo.
I wasn't talking about the Chinese government. As you mentioned 'twisted nationalist' workmates and newscasters, I was really talking more about getting upset with horrible people in general.
But on the subject, to be honest I never see westerners getting upset about all the other regimes in the world, such as in Africa. Only the regimes that the western propaganda apparatus chooses to designate as hostile.
The CIA drag people off to be tortured in black sites all the time, the only difference being that they have other regimes where torture is legal, do their bidding for them.
Guantanamo bay was nothing more than a concentration camp in which all legal rights were void. A million people died in the Iraq war which was utterly illegal.
American people all over the country have been brainwashed to support such evil aggression upon sovereign states, and innocent people (the full history is horrendous) because they believe in the fictitious war on terror, which is, and only ever has been about, securing resources, and advancing American hegemony. And don't even get me started on 911(patriot act etc etc)...
US nationalists who support their government are not bad people necessarily, they are just victims of propaganda in the same way Chinese people are theirs.
Yeah I agree. Republican idiots over here are purposely referring it to "Chinese" which has repurcussions for Chinese-Americans here and tries to pin blame on China rather than on Trump's unsurprising incompetance in dealing with this serious issue.
