No chance whatsoever. Pubs would be rammed.

Think the point is you don't reopen the pubs and stuff first.

You do it in a phased way.

Let small businesses such as small coffee shops or independent stores etc reopen first.

You keep the social distancing measures in place and people will generally still be more cautious - it's just ingrained already.

People will still be keeping their distance when on walks and stuff.

You just do it all bit by bit.

Ex WHO director on twitter suggesting if the trends continue we could see restrictions lifted by the end of the month. He reckons it'll prob be businesses of 50 and under staff to start. Apparently other European countries have already started this. Whether bars etc are included in that I don't know. I'd imagine restaurants and cafes will be take away only initially or with tables and queueing 2m apart. He also suggested that schools could be reopened early May and international travel and public gatherings by early June.

He's been the most ridiculously positive person in all of this, almost delusional.

BBC think early June for the lockdown to end.

I wouldn't be putting Maccies in with decent grub but each to their own! lol

In the respect of places like Maccies/Starbucks etc, I think it makes sense for them to reopen at first too but only to be takeouts / drive throughs etc.

Anywhere that's going to have a lot of footfall, you just manage it smartly.

He said early June for it to end also mate. Nothing wrong with positity based on facts mate especially when we've had a media hell bent on scaring the masses silly and ignoring any good news every chance they get.

The lockdown shouldn't just be ended in one fell swoop, that's the thing.

Denmark/Austria are due to ease off their measures starting next week. That's the key term - ease off, not lift.

Our journos are banging on about lifting. It's not about ending it all at once - that's the worst thing to do. It's about a gradual easing at the right time.

It'll be mid-May at the earliest before anything is allowed to reopen you'd think. And in that case it should just be places such as small businesses, or maybe your fast food chains but they. have to operate take out/drive through only. Still encourage home working where possible etc.

If the numbers stay manageable while those are open, then 2-3 weeks later you can look at another lift (say pubs and bars and larger restaurants).

The next thing after that is large gatherings etc.
