I'm not sure your 98% figure is correct, I went for a walk yesterday just round the block and through a park and saw a load of people sat on the grass or on benches.

There are a fair number flouting the rules or bending them thinking "well it's just me it won't matter".

I'd be bringing in harsher measures, particularly looking at the weather forecast for this weekend. Friday and Saturday 24C and sunny in London.

plenty of writing and speculating from those who know saying that constant reporting of the few people that break the rules rather than the vast majority who don’t actually encourages further breaches . Simply because people think why should I stay at home when others aren’t , as per usual the media need to have a think about their actions .

Either way its still the majority mate - sooner people stop listening to the news the better as they create drama to sell papers and generate clickbait.

One day the lockdowns are too lax the next they are too strict

Next day the lockdowns came too late the next we cant lockdown forever.

The rags do nothing but play folk off against one another - prior to COVID-19 it was benefit scroungers are the enemy now its folk who go outside to exercise.

Yes some people on benefits are scroungers but you dont scrap the benefit system because of the minority- same as some who go outside are taking the mick but the majority are sticking by the rules so why punish those?

I agree. Last couple of days in the daily briefing, I’ve been amazed by how the journalists are like a dog with a bone over when restrictions will be lifted. The more pressure they put, the more likely the government will cave, irrespective of the advice.

Anyone with a roof rack and bikes on the back of the motor gets pulled I'd hope.
Yes, anybody on a motorway that’s not an essential worker going somewhere should be stopped and asked what they are doing on it. There’s no shops or chemists on motorways, and nowhere to walk the dog.

Joey stop listening to propaganda news mate.

98% of the country is obeying the lockdown - a couple of blokes going for a run isnt going to cripple the NHS.

European politics are full of jumped up little generals and Macron is certainly one of them - you only have to see how a good number of police forces in those countries carry on to see why we shouldnt follow suit.
On the news - Google it fgs......

Because it's a life and death situation and every person who ignores the rules endangers others as a result. Each violation of the social distancing measures helps spread the virus.

Why would I oppose stricter measures for a couple of weeks if it makes people less likely to die just because it means I can't go for a run in the afternoon ?

You can get the mileage in by staying local and doing loops, which is what I`m doing with my running.

It`s boring as hell, but it`s really good for the mental side of endurance training, as you have to overcome the fact that it`s boring and almost have to force yourself to carry on.

Indeed. Every single person on my Strava feed has an indoor trainer as well, so they can exercise indoors quite easily. British Cycling are quite clear that people should stay local and only do what's necessary. Nothing applies to them.

Ban cyclist deffo road hogs - going further than cars ATM always selfish over 18s should be insured and pay road tax too!
Puffing and panting germs everywhere lol

All because the government provided woolly advice that 1 bit of exercise per day is okay, so people are making it 4 hours worth of exercise. I've heard people reasoning that it's perfectly fine because they could injure themselves at home just as much, so going out that far is fine.

The police in the Lakes have said repeatedly don't come to the Lakes, we'll still be here when this is over sort of thing. I swear when I sent my mate that he probably took that to mean it's the out of towners they don't want tossing about on the hills, so off he went. Knobhead.
