Politics stops at the waters edge, in my view.

Thailand and Kenya were not bastions of human rights and liberty before the need to control the spread of a deadly virus and I wouldn't expect them to be any different during it.

I dont feel like I'm living in a police state. We have been asked to take certain measures to protect ourselves and most people are doing so voluntarily.

Every democracy is a balance between liberty and authority. The trade off is that we accept the state will use its authority sensibly and wisely.
We are currently living in a police state. You just happen to believe that its worthwhile.

Unreal grassing tbh

You don't know anything about me mate. Just like I don't know anything about you. I haven't lived in the UK or Ireland for over 15 years. I'm not grassing on anyone but you go on ahead.

All I've suggested is the the police have a job to do and they don't make the laws. This idea of snitching and grassing on people is counterproductive, harmful and the methods used by gangsters and thugs.

It doesn't help communities unless of course you are criminal.

One final thing, you don't have to worry about law enforcement or the army taking away your liberties because, trust me they care about them just as much as you pal. What you really have to worry about is folks who are starving, desperate folks who will break into your home if the shtf.

And then who will you be looking for to save your sorry ass?

Would be in favour of having a user post limit per day in this thread, some people are clearly losing it.

You really are an authoritarian at heart aren't you mate?

"I disagree with this free speech forum nonsense. We must limit it to people I agree with"

Listen to yourself.

I think a few are starting to go a bit stir crazy.

my worry is if we also get a heat wave whilst still in lockdown. That could be a recipe for murder and mayhem!

I'm wondering what happens when hay fever season comes in, and it's not that far off?

Anyone sneezing in the open air, and many will be, would be looked at very suspiciously - good thing is they'd have no trouble with other people not keeping social distancing - for two metres read 20 metres
Down in Cornwall everything isabout 3/4 weeks earlier. My hay fever kicked off about a week ago. I get it every year and know the signs and luckily had a. box of pills leftover from last year so it mitigates most of the symptoms.

But yeah. It's fingers crossed every time you visit the supermarket
