I've never really understood why this isn't standard practice anyway tbh. If someone isn't well, even with a cold, surely the last place you want them is somewhere it could spread to colleagues. If nothing else comes from this situation but a more enlightened attitude towards both sickness at work and remote working then it's no bad thing.

Add to that extra awareness about personal hygiene (the # of people who apparently didn’t wash hands after bathroom - yikes!) and an uptick in vaccine use.

As ever the severity and cause for concern of the virus is in the middle of the two extremes; 'doomsday food stockpilers' and the 'everything is fine this is media scaremongering overdrive we survived worse in the 1930's hur durs'

A vaccine would take a few months to produce then a year plus to roll out depending on the country and government. In the meantime 10's of thousands give or take will die (admittedly nearly all 70's year old +). The virus may/may not mutate and a fully curable vaccine may not even be found anytime soon. The NHS thats already crumbling with no beds faces huge strain with knock on effects that will kill people waiting for other treatments and it may now be that this strand of coronavirus becomes a new norm like the flu and kills people yearly.

Theres a lot of people in this thread posting scaremongering but equally people saying keep calm and carry on and either or both could be wrong.

Mind you, I'm a cancer survivor over 60 but this thing can't get us both, can it? No worries.
