Matt Hancock is lying on national tele, yet again.

According to SchoolsWeek:

Amazing how they can just do this, and nobody holds them to account.

This has occurred at just about every twist and turn of the disaster we have faced, so far only Piers Morgan and Kier Starmer (past fortnight) have even questioned the [Poor language removed] show we have witnessed from our elected "leaders".

If it was left to the BBC to report on the crisis, one might be forgiven for wondering what all the fuss was about. Dunno about Johnson threatening their funding model but I'm seriously looking into withdrawing mine from them!

They've lost it. Completely lost it. The revolt in the north of England and in Wales and Scotland has smashed through this government's reckless easing of the lockdown when the virus was never under control.

This is a government in disarray and retreat.

Which ever poll you go by the figures scare me , A poll on Sky said 49% thought they werent doing a good job but 47% thought they were.
Its the 47% part that scares me what exactly has this government got to do for these people see them for what they are?
On a different note where the hell is Johnson ?

It's the trajectory that's important. The figures of support for this government have plummetted from 64% approval rating over their handling of this crisis, a few weeks back, to 39%.

And realistically, I can only see approval go down further once the furlough/subsidies start getting phased out.

I'm amazed that 39% of people are still on board with them, tbh. This is a human catastrophe never seen in civilian life in this country, not even in wartime.

There's no spinning this. Johnson and Cummings and the rest of them in that bunker are beginning to realise that you cant finesse a situation where tens of thousands of people are dying with no end in sight.

IMO, this government will collapse and it'll be replaced by a national government of unity. Either that, or there'll be a coup in the Tory Party and the rabble bollocksing this up will be removed.

The 47% is a consequence of how the coverage has been in most of the papers, TV, online and radio media. Up until this week been wall to wall positive, with criticism dismissed and the cult of personality around the leader pumped up more than I can ever remember in this country - Boris takes charge, Boris bravely fights off killer disease, Boris knocks up woman, Boris bravely leads us all back (over the top) etc. Even obvious failures by other ministers are spun away with “things will be alright once Boris recovers / gets a grip”.

Starmer’s performance on Wednesday was probably the first opportunity most people had to see someone in authority not only challenge the idea of King Boris but also articulate what the vast majority of people have seen, heard and experienced of the crisis so far.

People probably know the papers and government politicians are lying to them, but having someone legitimise those opinions seems to have had a powerful effect.

Missing yet again, I fear Lord Lucan will show up before Johnson does.

#Pimpernel.

The latter. Gove.

He doesn’t work weekends mate. He already took a big pay cut to go into politics. Don’t take his weekends too

When the job gets tricky
throw a sickie.

I think he's furloughed himself. Only emerging to get a photo taken of himself with a coffee in hand whilst taking his 30 minutes exercise.

Poor Gavin Williamson, doesn't even know what his own department is doing, it seems.

"What I reported was that Greater Manchester has been told by government the 'Everyone In' hotel-based approach is being wrapped up. Here is the relevant section of the report. I'm just doing my job".

This 'kin scumbag putting the Tory blame game policy forward this morning: basically, dont blame us for the catastrophe of the care homes because they are run by others; just give us 'credit' for making sure the NHS wasn't overun.

But hold on, didn't Johnson already say it was his "profound regret" what happened in the care homes?

Lizards.
