well, that was fun. craft beer bar opened up across the street, had that on the big screen in a tiny space. packed house. and my fave German sausage place in the barrio dispatched a woman to cook up salchichas, with their fantastic "bretzel" (pretzel bun), as well as curry sauce/mustard.

was in the way of the TV so a family invited me to sit at the fringe of their table. Los Cafeteros scored the 2nd about two minutes after I sat down, so they liked me.

I'm wondering whether the Arg-Col result might be a little symbolic. I think Arg are done as a force in world football for a little while now (cue them regrouping and winning this tournament). Could be Col replacing them as the continent's 2nd force.

Similar feeling with Ryan Babel and Holland. All this talk about how impressive the Dutch are, and he’s on the wing.

They’ve been done for a good decade now. The presence of Messi papers over the cracks and gives a false impression of where they stand. So many average players in that side. Defence is terrible but so is central midfield. To think it wasn’t that long ago that Redondo could be left out such was the quality they had.
