CONFIRMED: Moyes Leaving - All Reaction Here

could he have had an offer in principle from another club? no idea how this works etc

Possibly, we will never know. He might have already told the board that he is off in the summer but is staying in the meantime to work his contract.

He might want a new challenge. What is Sven upto these days??

Sven keeps accepting jobs and then not actually doing them, I think.

You have to love Sven, he proves it pays to be a failure. The amount of pay offs he has had since the England job is unreal. It's possible he is doing it on purpose. He talks the talk at the interview, and once he has the job he takes the piss.

Even when he was England manager, after each scandal ( Affairs with FA workers, Arab sting by News of the world ) he got a better contract. Oscar Pitorius should sign his lawyer up.

Moyes to City could be on if the runmors about Roberto are close.

Sadly we will end up with a manager who spends most of hist time in the bottom 3 of the table.

What goes around comes around Bill.

This is the rub - Moyes has played it for his own benefit and not the clubs.

I think this is a ridiculous statement. Moyes has stuck with this club and all its associated bull**** for the past decade.

It was pretty obvious by his remarks about it that he was absolutely gutted by the collapse of the Fer deal, which was most likely the final straw in dealing with this board. If he is truly going to walk away in the summer, what should he do?

Complain to the media about lack of transfer funds? (Benitez, Graham at Spurs, etc.)
Publically campaign for another job in the second half of the season? (Redknapp)
Throw his toys out and quit immediately? (McLeish)

No, he's keeping shut about it because he's too much of a professional and cares too much for the welfare of the club. He knows that announcing his intention to leave now will have a detrimental effect on the spirit of the players.

I would argue that everything that has happened off the pitch at the club over Moyes' tenure has been an unmitigated failure:

-Multiple embarrassing disasters in the transfer market not even including players we simply could not afford (Fer, Ofoe, Banega, Obinna, etc.)
-Complete lack of any marketing strategy or non-television revenue increase
-Complete lack of any presence in the city of Liverpool and its public spaces (ever seen an Everton kit for sale at JLA? I haven't...)
-Having to sell our best players in order to avoid bankruptcy
-Borrowing money on unfavorable terms
-Selling Finch Farm and immediately leasing it back
-Poor shirt sponsorship deals relative to other clubs
-Failure to find investment or a buyer, including refusing to state a valuation
-Failure to sign a first XI players for TWO YEARS while losing Arteta, Pienaar, Yakubu, Beckford, and more.
-Utter lack of communication with supporters, going so far as to cancelling AGMs
-Failure to make any progress on a new stadium or Goodison redevelopment
-Always out of pies at half time

Seriously, I am absolutely astonished that people spend time slating the manager about a perceived negative philosophy or our away record at teams that outspend us by an order of magnitude or a couple of duds in the transfer market. Everyone makes mistakes, even Ferguson has made a loss of 26m on Berbatov, bought Juan Veron, and bottled the title last year by losing to Wigan and drawing us at OT. Nobody is infallible. Yet it seems many here expect the manager of Everton to be.

Meanwhile I challenge you to name one thing that the board have gotten right in the last ten years. (which by the way Moyes has never criticised even when he has had perfectly reasonable grounds to do so)

Your anger is misdirected.

Agree with most of that, especially the anger with our clubs problems and lack of progression being misdirected.
