We can't have a clause mate as we've no released him his contract has just run down , the whole legality is a bit iffy anyway I think but if he's just left with no compensation issues then I can't see how we could impose one .

Oh agreed mate - I meant a deal should have been done a while back and done properly.

Kenwright and the board come out of this Moyes saga looking very bad.

This feels a bit weird like. It's a bit like splitting up with your bird after a long relationship. Depends on who you get off with next.

Good luck to him and we should appreciate all that he did for us, but 11 years is a long time and a change may do us good.

Then again it may not. Uncertain times ahead.

Anyone who thinks things have developed over the last couple of days are kidding themselves. From last summer, when he was doing Euro Championship TV work, through to 5live commentaries (Man U game v Real in the Champions League) and appearances on MOTD, there has been an orchestrated and deliberate campaign to raise Moyes' profile ready for him getting the United job.

All the talk of discussing new contracts in the summer was a stalling tactic with Fergie's retirement and Moyes getting the job already decided IMHO.

That said, he's been offered a job where he has chance if league titles and European Cups. If he'd have turned that down, there would have been serious questions about his ambition / sanity.

All in all, we've had a good (not great) 11 years. Theres been some highs and a good few lows, but after the horror show of the 90's, he's left the club in a better state than how he found it, and for that I'm grateful.

Good luck Dave, I expect you'll need it.

Moyes has spoilt his reputation for me by the way he's left:

- running his contract down
- staying on for last two games
- left us with his backroom staff to sort out

Also I'm guessing there's no clause to prevent raids for Baines and Fellaini

How can there be a clause when they're not buying him out of a contract - so you're right.

Got on to that - he never misses an opportunity the classless, bitter gobsh!te

For that reason, he surely can't be considered for Everton manager (I can't believe people have even suggested it)

Lads there is an inescapable logic in modern football. The big corporate raiders ( United, City, Real madrid, Bayern etc etc ) get what they want because they are the golden inner circle.

Moyes was offered perhaps the biggest and the highest profile job in world football. He was with a great old traditional club with no money and no real competitive chance at CL level. He did what anyone would do.

Managers and players are employees. They come, they go. The club goes on.

I wish him well. I hope he starts to win at Anfield !!! and apart from that and from now on I am no longer even remotely interested in him.

Next.
