Even if he signs in the summer critics will say he only signed as was No other offers on the table , obviously our PR team will go into over drive on why there was the delay in signing and it being the big signing of summer and season ticket clincher etc, But after His comments on assurances and the like before january which then died on there arse, The only way he can sign now and it look all Healthy is if the board pull there finger out with the finances

1) How is that Moyes' fault?! Kenwright and the board should constantly have alternative mangers in mind.

2) I haven't said anything of the sort, Everton > Moyes every day of the week, but I happen to think Moyes is the only person within the club who can force Kenwright's hand so we don't have to sell to buy every summer.

3) Did I say you couldn't have a different opinion? Stop being so precious.

1) Yes they should. But I bet they don't. All i'm saying is Moyes having been at our club 11 years means nothing in the long term future of the club. It means nothing. Moyes waiting until summer affects the clubs future (and arguably the present).

2) I don't disagree here. But is putting pressure on Kenwright a good thing? And is he even doing that? For me he's just seeing how the team do until summer and making his mind up on that.

3) No you didn't. But you got all arsey about my point even though it was clearly valid.

We have a PR team?!

It depends when he means the summer, to be fair.

If he means he'll give us an answer in May once the football's finished than fair enough that still leave plenty of time to get a replacement.

Some people on here or acting like he'll let us know in august though, which is obviously far too late.

Plus what he tells the press might not be what he's told kenwright, they might know the situation better then we do. And exactly what situations we'll sign and which he won't. Though, I agree, that the baord shouldn't allow him to dick them around. A **** or get off the pot ultimatium doesn't seem unreasonable.

1) So because the board are incompetent Moyes should just accept what he's been offered without question? He has every right to wait and see what position the club are in come the summer, I bet he's as fed up as you and me that he has to sell to buy every summer which means *real* progress is almost impossible.

2) Yes! Kenwright has it cushy with Moyes, he has a manager who constantly overachieves and saves his arse every year, if Kenwright is facing up to a possible future without Moyes maybe he'll think about actually trying to find some investment.

3) It wasn't arsey, it genuinely didn't have any relevance, it doesn't matter whether the club is 2 y/o or 135 y/o, we need to put aside history and we need to act for our immediate future. Moyes has been here 11 years, signing up for another 3 or 4 is a huge decision so I have no problem with him taking time to make that.

You're probably right and your post has calmed my initial fury down a little.

We only know one fact of this. There is probably much more than we know going on.

You were arsey

I dont blame him one bit- I expect he is waiting to see what budget he has to work with which in turn means how well we do in the league and cups etc.

If they say we didnt do very well so you have no budget, the £8.6m phantom money for Fer has disappeared and you have £2m to invest in the team then I wouldnt blame him for keeping his options open.

Think you are silly to call him names for doing this.

I can totally understand him doing this for him. Makes perfect sense.

I'm just not sure it's the best thing for Everton.

Wouldn't accept it from a player and I'm afraid we shouldn't accept it from the manager. Thanks David for sone great memories and thanks for digging us out of the **** but don't hold the club and it's loyal fans to ransom. We deserve more than that.

Moyes will still be here next season I am certain. There is still the chance he will guide us to Champions League football as well don't forget, before everyone gets on his back. for me this is just another way for him to motivate the squad and get another % out of them, he is totally committed to and driven by, gaining success with Everton Football Club.
