It does in a way mate, but the thing is the difference between finishing 6th and 9th is easily about £1.5m in Premier League prize money. Money which a club in our position can't afford to miss out on.

More reason to get rid of him now then cause if we carry on as we are with him in charge right now we'll keep slipping down the table.

Hell there's just as much chance of us having a good run in to get europe if he goes and its his contract issue causing the poor run we're in.

As in the Spring of '08, when we were in pole position fot a CL place, the "new contract" saga raises its head and we find a once promising looking season going south.

It is all too sad for words.

A month or so ago, just as we should have been gearing up for a final push toward the CL and to Wembley glory, the club's entire focus shifts from events on the pitch to the antics of a builder's son from Glasgow prevaricating over whether or not to sign a bit of paper which would have guaranteed him around £20,000,000 over the next five years.

In a world gone mad this surely is the most damning indictment of modern day football.

Fair point.

I suspect though that any possible replacement would rather stay where they are until the end of the season. I can't imagine many managers will want to uproot and move on with 10 games left. Not a decent manager any way.

There is that, but if you look, the worm is turning a bit. Andy Dunn, Prentice and McNulty are saying the same as us. Where is he going to go that's bigger? Who is going to want someone who's very talented team got hammered at home with a trip to wembley looming?

I agree with another poster on here, if he leaves it will most probably to do nothing for a bit until a job comes up. I hope he goes as if he stays it will only be because nobody else wants him

Apparently he's been spotted at a few Chelsea games lately. A few people seem to think he's in the running there.

If it's true Chelsea need their heads testing.:o

True. But i'm sure we could find someone to do a caretaker job till summer, thats effectively what moyes is doing anyway.

Don't knwo who'd be left cause he might take his staff with him though.

Yeah we maybe could. But personally I don't think it's worse the hassle considering how few games are left, and what calibre of potential managers there are out there. I think it might rock the boat a bit and could really unsettle players, more so than they undoubtedly already.

I think a lot of the backroom staff would stay as many of them are ex players and have a connection to the club.

I really can't face another season with him as our manager.

He seems to be regressing. He's had the same formation/gameplan for eight years. Players have to fit in with his interpretation of their position, rather than play them to their own strengths.

We have some really talented players, but for the most part, we play hoof balls up the field to a midfielder who plays just off the front man because he is tall. That would be almost as bad as playing a winger in goal over your second choice goalkeeper because the winger has bigger hands.

Though I say all this I think the majority of the fan base back him and would be gutted if he left. The feeling seems to be if he left we would automatically be worse, rather than we could be better.

That has made my day

Think yesterday will have most as ambivalent now mate.

Think thats the problem. People want something- some would rather be in a an 'exciting' relegation fight rather than competing for Europe.

But even if we get into Europe we're hardly competing are we? Just making up the numbers.

And that will never change while the kenwright and moyes double act remain in place.

The Scot denied that his move to delay a decision on his Goodison future until the summer was a factor in the display, and insisted it was a spectacular off-day instead. What can be said is people will always draw comparisons,” he said when asked about his contract stance in the context of Saturday’s result. But anybody who watched that game will know it had nothing to do with that. It was just a poor performance by myself and the Everton team. It wasn’t anything to do with anything else. I actually got a feeling that the supporters realised it was just a bad day. We just didn’t play well. It wasn’t as if it was something tactically we did. Throughout you saw misplaced passes, bad control, not winning a race, a challenge or a header in the box. It was a performance I’ve not seen from my team for quite a while. I’ve always known what I need to do to move it forward. A lot of those things get apparent. A lot of supporters and sports writers as well don’t always maybe see it. As the season goes on those frailties start to show up more and more. People start to notice them. We’re quite good at covering a lot of them up through the years. We considered all the different permutations that Wigan could play and tried to make sure we covered all bases. But really we didn’t come up to scratch no matter what way we played, and I don’t think there was a great deal I could have made different.

Last sentence is abysmal, btw.
