CONFIRMED: Moyes Leaving - All Reaction Here

I agree with you that people on here are too quick to blame our financial situation but you're going a little over board in mocking it, I think.

Spending more money does make you win more games, as a general rule.

Quick? Your post count on this thread tells me you must be popping upers and downers every 8 hours just to satisfy your desire to slaughter Moyes.

I think there is very little doubt that David Moyes is waiting to see what offers he receives during the summer, that is if he already hasn't reached an agreement with a new club.

This waiting until the end of the season is a load of bull. A single top four finish will not dramatically alter the clubs finances. We all know that money is tight and that only players leaving will mean a transfer budget for the manager. We all know that if at all possible Heitinga will be sold on and that in all probability Fellaini will move as well. The only real uncertainty is Baines and that is the one and only situation imo that may depend on where we finish.

David Moyes better than most managers what the summer will bring for him if he stays and therefore if he really intended staying the contract issue could be put to bed now.
I think we all also accept that he was at least interested in the Spurs job last summer but wasn't considered.
I can understand why he would leave and I thank for all that he has done for our club, but a little honesty wouldn't go astray.

Its not just the "who can he manage thats better then us", I think he would take a chance at a lower side as long as he had guarantees from the chairman of funds each season, he could build a team within 2-3 seasons.

I wouldnt be so sure on heitinga or fellaini leaving in the summer either. It benefits heitinga to stay until january when he can sign a pre contract with a massive signing on fee, and I dont think we will receive high enough bids for the board to say yes to selling fellaini

I do honestly think we could finish higher and play better football with a different manager, Martinez maybe.

Problem is I have no evidence to back this statement up but I do think that our results away at the big clubs speak for themselves, those are the results that are keeping us back from Europe at the the moment.

If we can somehow turn that around in the coming months i.e beating Arsenal, Spurs, Liverpool and Chelsea with Moyes then that could change our fortune as we'll be higher up.
I'm rambling.

Just his teams league position for the last few years...look in the drop zone.

I'd have Martinez over Moyes every day of the week the only reason I ever hear for keeping Moyes is fear - fed up with it after nearly 11 years.

Can't live your life frightened of your own shadow.

Why am I not surprised at that , not really a ringing endorsement though, as I reckon you'd take Phil Brown over Moyes, given your view of the man. Personally I think Martinez would be a disaster for EFC, as I think he'd be proven to be well out of his depth a la Rodgers.

But people use it to blame our failings when it's going bad... And use it as a badge of honour when it's going good.

Only Moyes can do what Moyes does. His replacement is not going to be Moyes because they can't be him.

Pre Moyes is depressing and sticks long I the mind of Evertonians. But I think we're in a good enough position now not to fall into how it was.

At worst well be a mid table team, like the last 2 seasons.

I'd take Martinez over Moyes. His attitude to the game is more suited to cup competitions than Moyes IMO. We'd most likely finish lower in the league by a place or two here and there but I reckon we'd be up there for the domestics most years. I'm realistic enough to know that the absolute best we could hope for while the bum is running the show.

Martinez' records in cups is utterly appalling.

it will be a lot lower than a place or two. Try Mid table and below.

I take it you were shouting for Moyes when Walter left?

You might be right but the man is almost unique in the English leagues of rebuilding from nothing and winning not since Clough and arguably Wenger have we had similar, deffo something this club needs.

As for Phil Brown he makes Moyes look like Ferguson.
