..I just want to see him play really well, nice and solid. I wouldn't be surprised if Holgate misses out.
Holgate was at fault for the goal in the first game. It makes me wonder if he will develop into a centre-half or will he remain as a limited wing back.
...I know lots see him as a CB but my concern has always been his physicality and more specifically him getting bullied by the power of central strikers. He's a classy footballer, though, and useful to have.
Agree on the classy footballer bit. Always best to have those around but his ability to play in a system is what is sticking in my head. Now he isn't good enough to be a centre-half and nor for me would he be a first choice wing back ahead of Kenny never mind Coleman.
I can't see him developing the attacking side that a modern right back needs so that leaves him needing to gain bulk to manage the Hurley burley of centre back. Again not sure if he can achieve that and not compromise his pace etc.
Totally undecided as to where Holgate will find his best position.
But at least we have security with Pickford as the last line of defence...
