Utter masterpiece
Brilliant game, but the story is really short and becomes sort of messy. I thought I was in for something amazing and beautiful as it began playing out and then all hell breaks loose and it loses its way somewhat.

Still fantastic though.

Really enjoyed Firewatch.

The game isn't really lengthy. I did a complete play-through in approx. 6 hours (and I played at a slow pace). Worth the 20 € though.

It's a simple game. A man gets dealt bad cards in life. Goes to the forest walks around. You don't come across other people. You do have conversations with another person. It's a cool, engrossing game and atmosphere. Wouldn't play it if you enjoy games with lots of action and fast paced stuff.

Looking to find other games like it.

It was by a million miles my favourite game of the last year

Lots of other people on here will dispute the validity of so called 'walking simulators' - but if you enjoyed Firewatch, I'd heartily recommend Everybody's Gone To The Rapture, Dear Esther, Gone Home and The Vanishing of Ethan Carter

I've got too much time on my hands and with a few operations on the horizon meaning I'm going to be out of work for another 6 months or longer I've gone and bought a PS4 . Now I had 2 PS2 and PS3's that became glorified DVD players so let's see how long this lasts .

I've bought madden, Fifa , NBA , doom and GTA and have fall out as part of the bundle but I think I'll cash that in .

I've had it 2 days and so far only played madden ( a lot) and the NBA game I've had a little go tonight . Both enjoyable so far .

I used to like playing 'Call of Duty' on the PS1, 2 and 3, when it was set in WW2 (Medal of Honour was better though), until it developed into 'modern' type scenarios on the PS4.
The ads I've seen for the latest game, see it set in space and that has me interested. Is it any good, or is the cheap price a guide to how good the game is?

I agree mate brilliant game. It's very relaxing; stress-free escapism. Fantastic story-telling and good dialogue. It was easy to empathize with the characters.

I am going to try the titles you've recommended, thanks for that.

I've always liked games like that. Another game I enjoyed this year (I waited until it was complete) was Dreamfall Chapters; although here I am slightly biased since it's a sequel of two of my favourite games.

Cheers mate - Dreamfall Chapters is a game I haven't tried yet - Will get it over the weekend!

If you haven't played the previous ones; be sure to watch the recap film that is included in the game since otherwise I imagine it can be quite confusing. Dreamfall is still quite playable by modern standards btw. Chapters is the direct sequel. The first game is less important. Every choice you make in the game changes the story; so multiple playthroughs are possible. A quick playthrough is +- 28 hours.

It's a point and click adventure game. You run around; solve an occasional (easy) puzzle, engage in dialogue.

Very short simplistic recap if you aren't going to play Dreamfall:

The Dreamfall universe revolves around different worlds. World of science, worlds in between (story time), the magical world (Arcadia). The main female protagonist (Zoë) is the Dreamer who can sort of move herself between worlds. Kian is the ex-Azadi apostle who was there when April Ryan got killed. First he fought magicals, now he is a changed person. Spoiler free very short recap.

The story is being patched apparently, which will hopefully fix this. If it gets sorted it's one of the best they've made
