Computer games.

I'm certain I'll love Last Guardian. Such weird but beautiful little games.

I can't justify the spend when I only occasionally get around to playing ps3 once every couple of months as it is.

The trailer for ME Andromeda has made me tempted to download ME1 from my bros PS plus account though and start those games.

I went to play ME 1 a few weeks ago, sadly its stuck at a certain resolution and 30fps, I'm sure there are mod fixes but I'm not that bothered, I still have 3 installed now, should play it before Andromeda really.

So, dunno if anyone remembers Mechwarrior. The series sat dormant for a long time (Mechwarrior 2 was the last reallygood game, 3 and 4 were ok, but not to the level of 2, the the isometric version that popped up on the first xbox) until Microsoft let PGI do Mechwarrior: Online. It is a free to play game. It is very good, but as I suck at PVP, I didn't get the full enjoyment out of it that I wanted to.

Well, today, PGI just announced Mechwarrior 5: Mercenaries. A complete single player game with campaign and everything!!! Looking forward to this one!

I thought 3 was better than 2, 4 was a huge disappointment though. The Online game was (and is) great but its launch / marketing were terrible, it was as if they didn't want to get anyone who wasn't already familiar with the licence to play it.

Elite announced for PS4 release next year. Is it worth buying in current form?

Was a big fan of Frontier: Elite 2 on my Amiga 600 as a kid.

I know there's a few on here who play it, but the only one I can remember to tag is @Dylan

I really want to play this one.

I don't play a lot of games any more so it's rare I play any right through. Ico & Colossus were two.

Will have to wait until I get around to getting a PS4 though :(
I'm looking into getting a PS4 myself i the January sales. My advice would be to get a PS4 Pro, nearly twice the performance of the PS4 for a little more money.

Id definitely consider getting the ps4 sooner if there was a decent versión of Elite out for it.

Used to have a versión on the NES and loved it.

Oh yeah! From where it is now, to where it began after its release, it is so much more of a game.

If you like Elite 2, this should be right up your street. You can fly with flight assist (where it is akin to atmospheric flight) or go full newtonian and fly without the assist.

Stay away from the sub-reddit though, as it is full of cynical modern gamers who complain that the world isn't handed to you on a plate (as in there are only basic tutorials and you are just dropped into it and left to fend for yourself). If you start at release, then you will be on equal footing with everyone else on the PS.

As you are playing on PS, if you fancied to fly with a stick, consider the Thrustmaster HOTAS 4 (it is a PC/PS4 stick). I play with the previous version, the HOTAS X, and for the price, it is awesome (its no X55 or Warthog, but those cost hundreds, where the HOTAS X was only 25 quid).

The short of it is, if you like space games, then E:D is the game to get for you.

Nice one cheers. Sounds like something I'll be right into. I was gutted when First Encounters got cancelled for the Amiga as it looked amazing for its time.

That was my favorite old Elite game.

I played the heck out of that broken, buggy game. Such a shame Braben wasn't allowed to finish the game (Gametek released the game before it was complete or heck, even tested.)

Just re-installed some old games I never play on, as they're ,well old, going to see what the modding community has done with them. Vampires The Masquerade and SWKOTOR 1 are 2 which I'm interested to see developments on both excellent games at the time but not aged too well.
