Computer games.

Sick of people calling NMS a bad game. I enjoy it. What it does it does quite well and is fun for a good while. If there had been no fanfare and a small indie had just released it, people would have been a lot kinder and would have praised what they did accomplish, given their meagre team size.

The problem started I think when Sony got on board. All the money on advertising but none on someone to handle PR. Star Citizen is by a comparatively huge studio funded with a massive amount of money and comparing the two is harsh. If Star Citizen isn't much bigger and more fleshed out then something has gone wrong.

Anyway, we'll see what happens. There's a difference between alpha and a finished product. I hope it's great of course as it promises to be so and it looks like my kind of game, but using some pre release videos to take another dump on NMS is just petulant.
I think the issue with nms is that there is no little to do in it. You a re right the fan fare didn't help things but for all intents and purposes the game is very basic which was sold on lack of information for people.

If they had more to do other than a basic goal then it would have been a massive hit. If you could play with other players and build communities for example, places to genuinely explore , dangers to be aware of, secrets and hidden stuff to get etc those things would bring the game to life.

Personally what I thought was it was a walking simulation in real time. 20 minutes to walk somewhere then 20 minutes to walk back again. Doing nothing in between apart from harvesting something just so you don't die on the way.

Afternoon Chris,

Ps4 have give in and allowed mods for Bethesda. Talk they will be more like cheats rather than mods but it's a start. Skyrim and later on fallout will have them.

It's good for me as I was having to get it on xbox previously. But what I want from the mods is very specific. I want mods which increase the game world immersion. 8 don't want to change dragons into trains, I want improves graphic textures and stuff like that. I'm getting skyrim to relive the game world, any chance of improving that world ala pc is what I'm after.

One of the really great bonuses of PC gaming is MODS, they can keep games alive for years after the popular interest has died down. Honestly, I love gaming on a PC.

What you doing today.

I think that's the next step for me, I semi built mine as in I picked all the parts and had it built, next time might have a go at building my own

Definitely a lot easier having someone like PC Specialist build it for you but once you've built one you can build another pretty simple. Took me a while but in the age we live in with YouTube tutorials for basically everything it just requires a bit of determination/motivation and maybe a bit of help from a friend. Saves you a load too.
