I gave MLB The Show 16 a right going over last night starting 'Road to the Show' mode which is basically the FIFA Be A Pro mode.
It's quite fantastic. You go to trials, attend camps and eventually get drafted. My chap got drafted as 1b to the Minnesota Braves who are the Minor League brothers of the proper MLB team Atlanta Braves.
The games are fun. You don't have to sit there watching play after play where you might not be involved, it jumps you in where an event that you will be in happens.
So you get all your at bats, and all fielding bits you might be in, as First base man that was a lot. And I was woeful at it so my coach asked if I fancied moving to third base where I'm much better.
Also hit a homer in my first match and have 2 for the season so far and a good batting average of .401. Well, I think that's good. Can't remember what it means.
Anyway. Boss game. If you like baseball. It's probably absolute whack of you don't.

After months of trying to remember the name, it finally came to me.
Right, i've taken the plunge Ijjy - Just downloading this now
Used to love Baseball back in my Uni days - Unfortunately I've lost track of trends and no idea of best players/team nowadays
It used to be all about the Yankees and the Atlanta Braves - For some reason I decided on Cleveland for my team (must have liked the logo). I remember the days of Roger Clemons and Randy Johnson - I'll have to swot up to see who's any good nowadays!

My knowledge is still growing but the current champs are the Kansas City Royals. Mets came second but are having a pretty crappy season this time round.
You're in luck, they've been very good this year.
Fun fact, he's just been inducted to their Hall of Fame.
Lovely stuff - I seem to remember the team was pretty awesome back then - Thome, Manny Ramirez, David Justice, Kenny Lofton etc
This is a seriously awesome game - The presentation of it is unreal

Hehe - Not really, I don't really understand the format of the leagues etc - I did get selected by the Indians, but seem to be plying my trade with the Akron Rubberducks?!
I know my knowledge of baseball is limited but I'm pretty sure they aren't MLB

Haha. Phew! Sounds like you've been jibbed out to minor league team like me! Think of it as sending Matthew Pennington on loan to Walsall.
I'm not sure the Minor league teams have real names as they all sound mental!!
