Still playing after a small break. Loving the buffs/nerfs for the most part.

The good:
  • Zen is finally playable, and my word is he good. I must have spent about 80% of my time with him 'on fire'. He's lots of fun but mixes healing and damage like no other. You're still often best also having a Lucio, but depending on the circumstances I can deal out enough healing and damage to help the team stay alive whilst contributing healthily to the kill count.
  • Though the way they nerfed him was lazy, Torbjorn is no longer ruining the game on console. He's still pretty annoying and they should really have fixed the turret's 360 degree, instant lock on nonsense, rather than just lowering damage. But hey, it's something.
The meh:
  • D'Va's update has definitely helped her. I love the new shield and it makes much more sense. But ultimately I wish they'd found a way to rework her weapon. It's just pretty poor, even at close range. However her survivability, mobility and improved ultimate still make her really good. Just not as fun to use as she could be.
  • Ana: Really enjoy the idea of her but she needs to be improved. I believe she has on PC actually, but not in the way she needs it: mobility. A sniper who can't climb, jump or move quickly is a pain in the arse. Given that you need to be in LOS with your team to heal them also, I find myself having to no scope with her and get into the fray in a way surely unintended. Some kind of wall climb would make her pretty good, but as it stands she's a bit counter-intuitive (like pre-buff Zen).
The why the actual hell you biffs:
  • Why on earth did they nerf Symmetra's turrets on console!?!? They have 1 HP and she was already underutilised. Her real issue is perhaps the teleporter but it's so easy to find that no nerf was needed at all. It feels really lazy to the console player base; as if they were half listening about Torbjorn complaints and just lazily nerfed all turrets. Poor form and it's ruined one of my favourite characters.
I'd agree with most of that. I've changed from a Mercy main to a Zeny main in comp, if you're mobile and kite enemies, you can be really effective, and the ultimate is a must have. DVA is very good too. It's interesting you say that because I see quite a lot of Symmetras, with the new ranking system and maining Zen I've moved into the mid 60s as opposed to early 50s before.
Didn't see much Symmetra before but at the higher level, she's essential with her teleporter if you are to have a chance when defending a point. Also very good on payload maps when defending

i just spent €4 on 20 legal megadrive games through Steam: all the classics: Sonics, Street of Rages, Ecco and the rest. They play fine, my cheapo Speedlink joypad is recognised and no glitches generally. My fairer half is a nostalgic Sonic player, it's actually a pretty hard game! She's stuck on this bit where water comes up really fast and you have to find an air bubble. I prefer crunching skulls on Streets of Rage...OOWEEEYAAA!

they run decent on consoles/steam. However that sega mini console is a piece of licenced crap.

Perhaps I exaggerated but I loved playing Symmetra and she definitely didn't need a nerf. Scouring the blizzard forums and all I can see on the matter is people complaining about it. Perhaps reducing the max teleports for her ultimate would have been okay but her damage output wasn't great anyway. She's also erroneously classified in my opinion, she's a defence character through and through.

I'd go the opposite way with the ultimate though. As far as I'm concerned that teleporter should be up as long as it isn't destroyed.
She does good damage from close range if you get it charged up, but that is very situational.

Against anyone decent you won't be able to charge her weapon enough. That's why she needs the turrets to effectively contribute to damage. She only offers a measly 25 armor too, so now all she really offers is her ultimate. Which is arguably the best in the game, to be fair.

I love the character but she just plainly didn't need a nerf and there's been no explanation or justification.
