Computer games.

Picked up Elite Dangerous Horizons again yesterday and feel like I might actually stick with it this time. If I remember correctly you are an Elite Eliter?
Well, not an elite eliter. I mean, I am ranked elite, but I am in no way elite.

But I have enough money that I can have everything in the game.

I've a fleet carrier and I have colonised a couple of systems. The peak of the game for me though was the fightback against the titans. The final battle in sol was absolutely epic. I want them to bring that, or something like it back.

I almost don't want to read too much on the Titans and all that, so that if I stick longer with it and start going further I will hit some surprises along the way

I'm very much at the beginning. Only trading around the start point and first upgrade done to the Hauler.

Used the fuel rats IRC for the first time, which was very cool

I was thinking to make money on anything but combat to start with but to see how I can get to a decent ship with strong defence systems and reasonable weapons, so I can at least get out of scraps. Then see from there

I don't want to chuck money at you, as it skips a big chunk of the game, but *if* you wanted a boost, I could set a buy order on my FC. Like a few million per ton of *random ore*. If you want to do that, shoot me your ign and I'll set it up tomorrow.

It is no skin off my back, I've got billions in the bank. If you can at least get you into something a bit peppier than a hauler, maybe you'll have more fun!

Ah that's amazing. Thank you.

I'll stick this offer in my back pocket for now, as I've upgraded the fsd today and jumping farther can see my income moving up considerably and will start working on a good medium ship before I get into data/exploration/missions

Glad I picked it up again. Been listening to Shards of Earth audiobook and all the space shenanigans reminded me I'd not given this a proper go. Can remember Elite on the NES and Frontier 2 I think it was on PC, having the galaxy map out on the floor telling my brother where to go to.

One of my best gaming memories was going through the thargoid story in Frontier: First Encounters. Shame Gametek forced the release before the game was completed properly.

I've recently been torturing myself with Terra Invicta.

Imagine the planetscape portion of X-Com. Thats a very simple version of Terra Invicta.

To say its a complex game undersells it. I have been dabbling with it for 6 months, and I'm still not entirely sure whats going on.

played through and completed 'resistance 3', was ok, not groundbreaking. Weapon wheel was a novelty as was the fast swap.
Ok, so it's a 2011 release and here we are 15 years later. The plot such as it is comes out of the avengers film, (though this turns out released a year later...) and it borrows heavily from 'half life 2'. Some fantastically OP weapons.
The AI is broken, enemies take 3 positions at most, so set up where they were and wait for the carousel.
No jeopardy, weird ending, a couple of useless weapons, hacky aliens, could have been so so much more. The bones of a classic are there, but it's a saturated market, HL2, Bioshock, Marathon, there's better out there. Game loses momentum about 2/3 through and some of the "puzzles" are obscure to the point of being nonsense. "chimera" strain, bio-retro-virus theme done better elsewhere. Bopped in under 8 hours.

4.5 heroes that save the world out of 10. What a shame.

I remember playing 3 when it came out, and I think the saturated market played a big part in its failure. I seem to remember it having a co op campaign and a underbaked COD clone multiplayer shoehorned in as well, which no doubt was shut down years ago.

If they had waited 4-5 years, developed it a bit more thoroughly instead of rushing it out into a crowded field then it could've been a modern classic. It's unfortunate that was the last we have seen of the Resistance games, and there doesn't look to be a revival anytime soon.

This still going? I remember playing X-Com: Enemy Unknown and Terror from the Deep in the early to mid 90s.

Football manager 26 coming to Game Pass premium next week. Has it improved since initial release?
Not really, no. It's been on game pass ultimate and I've played a season or two in it with various teams, it's "ok" at best, the UI is genuinely atrocious, some of the bugs from launch are still present.

I'd say still give it a try with the game pass, but YMMV on enjoyment. It's not absolutely unplayable, it's just not even good, a 4.5/10 on a good day Footy manager installment.
