Computer games.

Anyone else played this yet? I'm absolutely addicted

So this has pretty much divided everyone, a proper love it or hate it game.

If you go in looking for an interesting story, compelling characters and deep lore, you are not going to get that here. The story elements feel pretty tacked on tbh.

It is, however, an absolutely ginormous open world, sand-box game that tries to be everything at once.
Huge open world with tons of places to explore, loot to find, Zelda-esque ruined puzzle temples to solve, Soulsbourne-esque hiden bosses, quests, bandit camps and the like as well as all of the minigames... ALL of them:
Hunting, mining, tree-felling, gambling, bounty hunting, fishing, arm wrestling, fighting tournaments, settlement building, trading, you name it, it's in there somewhere.

The combat is insanely good. Proper 'Just Cause' (with swords) style power fantasy chaos.

There are some bits that drag it down a bit. It tries not to hold your hand and let you figure stuff out by yourself, but there's so many mechanics that certain tasks end up feeling frustratingly confusing. The control scheme takes a LOT of getting used to and there is still a fair bit of jank here and there. They have patched a load of complaints already and are apparently looking to fix a lot more soon.

I'm having a great time despite the issues though!

I'll have to remember so I can try it when it shows up on ps plus! 70€ currently!

I've had the week off work, so wanted something to waste my free time on.
I'd deffo wait for the price to drop on this and for them to put out a few more patches.

The game runs OK, but is in dire need of some quality of life upgrades. It doesn't hold your hand, which I kind of like, but takes it to the extreme, some of the systems are not explained at all or at most you get a 20 second pop-up and good luck finding it again if you miss it.

I haven't had this much fun in a open world since RDR2, and I haven't felt this engrossed in a world since skyrim. It plays like a single-player MMO RPG, which isn’t surprising given the developer.
Chapters 1–3 are structured like MMO-style quests, mainly there to introduce you to game mechanics (like you said, there's lots 😂), and that makes it feel quite jarring and unconventional to people used to more standard RPGs,

Proper game tho ain't it? Just gets better the more ya play it

It’s one of the weirdest games I’ve ever played - the combat, exploration etc is amazing, looks beautiful too, and there is an absolute tonne of content to stick your teeth into…

But, the story and characters are the worst I can remember experiencing in this medium, the amount of times I have to follow someone boring and listen to their boring dialogue has irritated me to the point every time I see Yann I genuinely feel angry and desperately hope he gets killed off. It feels like they made an amazing game, and then decided to bury the fun under terrible unstoppable dialogue and some of the most obtuse and boring puzzles and busywork imaginable

That sounds like HZD to me. The gameplay was enough to make me platinum it, and the story was good enough to the point you could imagine a decent movie being made of it, but my god the dialogue....horrific. you spend a fortune on making a game and allow it to go out with dialogue that bad...

Nah honestly mate this makes HZD look like Red Dead 2 when it comes to dialogue - it is shockingly bad

I DON'T WANNA!
