Lads don't be mean, he's spent hundreds on equipment and you want him to brick it first go?

@Nymzee I have a Samsung 970 SSD and I needed to update the BIOS so it could find the drive before cloning it. When it updates (you need to launch it off a USB) when it gets to 30-40%, turn it off at the wall.

Hope you get run over going to the shop later.

Then they reverse.

Well I'm sure you'll let them know with the ol' report function won't you, young 'en.

Only tried to help as well, regardless of you being a supporter of (several other teams).

Weird to wish death on me for it.

Not a bad first day/attempt...

Managed to get the 2x front fans installed, CPU and motherboard installed, SSD and HDD installed and PS bank(?) installed.

All that's left is to install my GPU and then connect everything up. I've had to order a cable extension kit though as everything feels a bit too tight for the rig after trying the 24-pin. They arrive Tuesday but it gives me time to learn first which cables I need in my PSU as that's blowing my head, learn how my RBG lights and the lightning node work & also to strip the GPU out of this PC and give it a clean.

Hopefull by the end of the week I'll be up and running.

Couldn't find an unlocked thread anymore on computer building/upgrading so thought I'd open this... with the advent on the complete myth that is Black Friday sales it got me thinking maybe I'll treat myself to some new bits for Christmas. My PC was a custom order off CyberPower back in 2011 so, yeh, old. Only new part I've added is a graphics card last year.

I've just ordered a new Samsung 860 EVO 1TB SSD drive inc. mounting bracket and a new 4TB external hard drive as I've never owned one before. However, can anyone look at my spec below and recommend any cheapish improvements? I game a lot on my PC but it just seems to run slow in general now, games crash etc. I've upgraded all my software, drivers etc. and defragged so I know it's not that. I'm completely dense when it comes to PC's in reality.

CPU: i7 960 Quad 3.20Ghz
HDD: 1TB HDD / 1TB SSD (needs installing and I need to learn how to move my OS over to the faster drive)
Memory: 6GB (3x2GB)
Graphics: NVIDIA GTX 1050Ti 4GB
Motherboard: ASUS P6X58D-E Intel X58
Power: 700W
WiFI: Linksys WUSB6300 AC1200 (I do plug straight in from router now though)

I also had a custom PC from CyberPower. I had it built to play WoW. It was a great PC and lasted awhile until the motherboard finally died.

Full Final Build:

CPU: Ryzen 5 3600X (Wraith Spire cooler included)
Motherboard: MSI B450 Tomahawk Max
GPU: GTX 1650S ROG Strix
SSD: Samsung 860 EVO 1TB
HDD: Seagate BarraCuda 4TB
Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB)
Power: Corsair RM750
Fans: 2x Corsair ML120 RGB inc. Lighting Node PRO
Case: NZXT H500i

Now just to get my new GPU then work out what the actual eff I do to connect it all up.
