I've never known a game where we haven't clapped the opposition keeper in.... Not read/heard any reports that they've claimed it as their own thing, but I'm not at all surprised.

I think the OP said it was a sycophantic commentator on BT who went all gooey about it....not the RS themselves.

Though if they did claim the credit for starting the practice it would not surprise me one wee bit
