Clapping Naismith

Think my viewpoint is I would have clapped if we were winning 3-0 and it was the 89th minute and there was no chance for them to get back in to it but do think it is weird the way the majority of the ground clapped when it was to put them in the lead. Yes Naismith is a good lad who gave a lot to charity and seemed to get us as a fan base but he isnt one of us and he has just taken away one of the three routes we have into European football next year. I know a lot of people thought that it would be like Saturday and it would kickstart us but I still just don't get it. The same with the people saying they are not arsed that we got beat last night. If thats your attitude then you don't deserve another trophy because you are settling for second best. I hate it when Everton lose, doesnt matter who it is against whether its pre season or a cup final and we should be aiming to win every game. Thats also how I expect the players and management to feel.

Booing the team off at half time was about 1000 times more cringeworthy than clapping Naismith for his goal in my opinion.
1-0 down in a half that we controlled but failed to score after winning the previous 5 games in a row.... stamford bridge esque.

The thousands who were clapping (incl me) recognise that apart from never giving less than 100% on the pitch & being an example to plenty of players with 10x more ability, he's also a thoroughly decent human being & an example to 90% of the greedy self absorbed ar5eholes who play the game. He's a class act.

I clapped the 2nd one too. The goal deserved it. Not the first time. I remember Kieron Dyer running through 6 players to score & that being clapped. Doesn't effect the game. Don't see the problem.

Him putting us 0-1 down. He got the great reception he deserved before kick off and would've got one at full time. No need to stand and applaud him scoring against us too mate.

No absolute need and if we did it again if he scored it be downright weird but it was just a final show that we like him and don't blame him having to play and score against us.

Now having a mass orgasm every time time Rooney touched the ball at that testimonial, forget who for, some Scottish lad, now that blows last night out of the water for me.

Wanna go the Lisbon mate?

If you don't understand why Naismith was clapped last night and why things like this have and will continue to happen then I've got no time for you to be honest.
That Kopite that popped up last night on a wind up used it as a negative example of fan behaviour.
Make of that what you will.

He's a decent lad by all accounts but on the pitch is pretty average. He wasn't good enough for EFC but should be fondly remembered for his attitude.

Treating him like the second coming of Dixie last night though was ridiculous.
