Yeah I was at that game too, albeit only a kid. I just remember being proper confused, I was no less confused last night.
Why not, he's a decent lad, didn't kiss badges or milk it. Did his job, scored, took a few handshakes and pats on the back, then got on with it.

I've been to quite a few of our games over the years when we've clapped when the opposition has scored a really good goal and have no problem with clapping Naismith after he scored. If people want to fume pointlessly about it on the internet then I have no problem with that either.

Not just ex players but yes they do. Depends on the player obviously. You must have your head buried in your hands or something when it happens.
