It sort of makes sense the papers linking him with us. We could do with a back up striker, he has very weak links with Everton, we have been partial to the odd Saha type deal in the past, but there really is nothing to actually link us with him. No actual facts.

I 'know' somebody and he is adamant , absolutely adamant that we've never even picked up the phone to Owens people, not even to casually ask about 'price ' . Reading the numerous threads in here and newspaper reports I must have asked him a dozen times and he won't have it , this bloke works in the business and had minor involvement or interest in where Owen might end up and as far as he is concerned from day one he's dismissed it as rubbish . People are normally vague or keen not to commit as positions often change but on this he seems determined so I'm with him.
