So its okay to hound Tory MPs as murderers and scum based on their Covid strategy but you're happy to praise a government which has locked up millions due to their religion or ethnicity, because you believe they handled the Covid outbreak well.

Great stuff.
You've "lost it".

Again.

Go back and read what's being praised.

They're not getting a pass from me. They're getting appropriate praise for leading the fight against the virus, and then holding out a helping hand to other countries.

I cant be arsed with all the neo-cold war BS. That's an irrelevancy. If some people have drunk mightily from the Washington and London Kool Aid fountain so much that they cant see aid as aid but, primarilly, as a means for "world domination", then I feel sorry for them. They obvioulsy have (to use a phrase aimed at me here) "lost the plot".

Hard to see how that isn’t a pass, Dave.

I'm praising them for something very specific: their reaction (and action) in their fight against this virus.

Maybe you devalue any aid to countries in Europe and Africa that is helping save lives, but I dont.

When anyone puts ideological purity over the well being of other human beings it's they/you who has "lost it".

African aid! Sino-imperialism more like mate.

I work across the continent and can tell you that China are aggressively and ruthlessly after the resource in Africa and many African countries have sadly fallen into Chinese debt traps.

At a time when some of us are working diligently to help the continent to stand alone we find ourselves consistently working at odds to Chinese goals for Chinese growth and the damage that they are inflicting on communities, the environment and ownership.

Maybe if they would have given correct numbers and where, the rest of the world might have been able to prepare better for the oncoming virus.
Even at that early stage the western media were questioning the data. If they were, then so were our governments in the west.

They had ample time to prepare for this, and when China finally did click into action they held back the fire for months to give our nations time to build a firewall.

Held back what, they had people flying all over the place. They didnt shut down quick enough when weeks earlier they knew its was going to grow to more than they thought.

You think the west dont do that? They perfected colonialism and continued it into the "post" colonial era.

Bottom line: I wish we were part of the Health Silk Road that China are building in unison with other nations in Europe and Africa. Maybe we'd have a testing kit by now if we were...and our nurses and doctors gear to protect themselves?

I dont care about China. I dont cut them slack for their domestic and expansionist foreign policy. I look at things pragmatically.

Dont just swallow the cold war nonsense our government throw at us...a government that's failed and is failing to protect us.

They knew about the virus for weeks and decided not to tell the wider world about it, for fear of the reputation being tarnished after numerous other historical pandemics originating there

They then allowed residents to travel to the far-flung corners of the globe, basically ruining the planet, whilst knowing about the virus

So yeah, China

The WHO has a lot of the blame on that early reaction by China.

The issue now though is dealing with this. Would anyone here on this forum really reject aid handed out by China - aid that could save lives?

That's the issue.

What timeline is this please ?

They didn't start their lockdown until the 23rd of January...
